I honestly dislike nostalgia, mainly because my childhood wasn't pleasant and there's nothing to remember fondly. I guess if I see the beach on Amherst shore again, it'll bring back some.
A lot of the video games I grew up playing- Pokémon games (Diamond and White 2), Brawl/Smash 4, Kirby games (Return to Dreamland, Epic Yarn, Mass Attack), Cooking Mama, The Legendary Starfy, Mario Party... And also the times I'd play on my DS under the pillow at night. I got caught a few times
Certain Songs from the late 90's and early 2000's will bring up memories about my life during those times. Same with certian older games when I play them also do the same thing. And reading especially the Redwall series and any of the early Drizzit books bye Ra Salvtore. And then talking to some of my friends do it well.... well more makes me think about a how life could of been different had I done some things differently but that is kind of off topic.
I don’t tend to feel nostalgia too often since I’m still relatively young. Even so, there are a few things that come to mind. - The smell of grass after rain. - The smell of the Oregon coast. - James Taylor music. - 3D games with 2D sprites (think Paper Mario or the DS Pokémon games) - The Scribblenauts series.
Without going into too much detail, I once walked down a rather secluded road in my area along with my family (I can't really remember the occasion, I think it was my birthday back then but I can't remember for sure...). I had forgotten about it until I went out and took said road for no other reason than to save some time. When I walked down the street, I was hit by a strong sense of nostalgia and was quite stunned, to say the least: I guess you could say that I, in a way, walked down memory lane. Other than that, I used to watch a lot of Let's Plays back in the day since I couldn't really afford any games on my own. Occasionally returning to the channels over whose content I had once been obsessing over also makes for a good experience.
Oh man lots of things... - 90's/early 2000's cartoon openers. Especially anything that was on YTV - The smell of baking, especially cookies - The alley/greenspace behind my mom's house. That was my domain as a kid and I feel really nostalgic whenever I walk there - The launch sound for the original Game boy, the PS1 and the PS2
Really anything from my childhood. But like I just got through watching phineas and ferb again and man do I miss that show.
