What would you like to see in a hack?

It would be cool to have a hack where Pokémon are video game or anime characters.

For example: Scorpion (Mortal Kombat) fire
Kisame (Naruto) water
Cell (Dragon Ball Z) bug
Tifa (Final Fantasy VII) fight
Hitsugaya (Bleach) ice

or cities in video games like: Green Hill Zone (Sonic)
Delmasca (Final Fantasy XII)
Karakura town (Bleach)


Hopefully that helps a bit. Stick with Pokémon Zero. I like the sound of it.

 

Nix all trade evolutions and allow the player to potentially catch all the Pokémon and actually complete the Pokédex within the game. Adding Pokémon from Creepypastas might be cool but don't go overboard on the memes, unless that's the kind of shit you are into. Hypno lore sounds great.

For Fakemon, make a sea-urchin Pokémon. There still isn't one, and that's sad.

 

Well you could create new area's than the ones already set in the game (it adds originality,) and if you can get some people to do some sprites that would be good as well.
The Legendary Pokémon you use could match the theme of the game, or maybe you should allow people to have a chance to catch all of them. (Perhaps Shadow Lugia if you're considering shadow Pokémon.)
Creepypasta sounds good as well, just don't go overboard about it. Something like..I dunno make an area made especially for this after you defeat the Elite Four.
Talking about the Elite Four, I would find it interesting if you used different types that aren't typically used.

My Opinion use all Pokémon up to gen 5 and have the legendaries be either be Jirachi Or Dyoxes and I have done spriting before and I'm decent at it but I don't have a spriter but once I get on I will gladly help with spriting

 

Ahh the world of ROM hacking is different completely from the world of Pokémon Essentials. Using both you can alter ROMs to make games, but if you've hacked traditionally and also used PE, like I have, you'll know the difference. Also check out some Fan-games (traditional name for PE games) vs some ROM hacks. Big difference That is why I cannot offer you much help outside of ideas - Because I really am terrible at everything PE is about.

You need a very solid back-story for the Region, Player, Rival, Evil Teams, and Legendaries.
After that, you need to, of course, write the main plot! Do not write the story until you've gotten a general plot outline.
Stay very organized, I cannot emphasize that enough! You need to have a doc detailing each individual location, each major plot point, the events with your evil team, Pokédex organization, special events, post-game events, and everything in-between! I have separate docs for everything regarding my hack, and I have folders inside folders inside other folders just for the purpose of organization. This prevents contrasting ideas by allowing you to input the same information in more than one location, and it makes the game-making process so much easier in the end.

As far as what I'd like to see in the hack...

• A good, well-thought out and involving story
• Customize everything you possibly can, I like to feel like it's a new game entirely.
• Make scripts and events feel as if it could happen in real life
• Fakemon, whether they be good or bad, mean a lot to me in a game

Like FireRed or Emerald.
