I was originally going to create a thread asking to pick three animals from your state/country that could be Pokémon starters (which was an idea brought up by Neb and Captain Comet), but felt that idea was too close in nature to one of the Summer Scramble events, so I'll go with a different question instead. This is a pretty generic question, but people's answers never fail to fascinate me nonetheless. What's your favorite animal? And if you can't narrow it down to one, feel free to list up to a top 5 list. For me it's the Tasmanian Devil. I live absolutely nowhere close to Australia or Tasmania Island, but it's always been my dream to see one in-person someday. They're just so cute and I can never get enough about learning about them. Now, what's yours and why?
Being an animal nerd, I have a lot of contenders. But I will always love octopuses more than anything. Impeccable camouflage, super smart, can squeeze into anywhere, deceptively strong, looks like an alien, they are the perfect being. Except that nature seems to think that title belongs to crabs for some reason. Special shoutout to big cats as a group. I love them too. Cats as a whole are great but big cats are cool because they're basically just domestic cats but L A R G E. Once you see a lion stretching their back like a shorthair you can't forget it. I've also recently fallen in love with skunks. Give them more love they are adorable.
I'd say for me it's squid, octopus, cuttlefish, chinchilla, and then maybe cats. Oh, also bunnies. I don't really have good reasons for these considering most of them I prefer fictional ones over looking at the real thing lol. I do have pet cats, though.
I am (like others) a big fan of the octopus. I also really like dragonflies. Their ability to hover is cool, and they have a neat design.
I love seals! A big part of it was how a seal keychain of mine became an (un)official mascot for my color guard team back in high school. We kept getting more and more seal plushies, all with rhyming names. There are now 10 of them: Jerry, Larry, Barry, Gary, Mary, Carrie, Perry, Terri, Big Perry, and Cherry. (No I'm not getting any more lol. Cherry was the final one) I love all of my seal children dearly
I love pigs! They have cute faces and at animal sanctuaries they look so happy. Whenever I eat pork I feel bad.
