It could be the generation you started with or the one that you just enjoyed the most, but everyone has a favorite. Which older gen is your favorite?

Mine is Gen. 2. My baby Cyndaquil came from that Gen, along with the Legendary Dogs and Umbreon. It can do no wrong. :D

Fourth gen is my Favorite, as I think most people already know. XD I had an amazing platinum run, and plus I do think the game and the generation as a whole was really nicely made. Lots of cool Pokémon released for the Shinnoh region, plush the HG/SS remakes were cool, though I have yet to get my hands on a hard copy, I've only played them on Roms on my computer. But still, it's a really nice gen, and I love it.

My favorite has to be gen III. It has Milotic, Mawile, Absol, Gardevoir, and a ton of other awesome Pokémon. The Hoenn region is very versatile, with lots of water, caves, forests, a volcano and even a desert. I played through RSE more as I've played any other Pokémon game :D

I'd say that Gen four just trumps Gen three as my favourite Generation. Heartgold is my absolute favourite Pokémon game of all time, with Emerald being close behind.

I like a lot of gen III Pokémon, but gen IV will probably always be my favorite, it's not only because I started playing the games in gen IV, but because they were just really good games.

Gen 4, by far. This game brought us gems like Diamond, Pearl and Platinum (Get it hurr hurr) and also my personal favorite Pokémon game ever, HeartGold. I adore this game so much even to this day! I still love replaying it, it's so much fun. My only regret is that I didn't get to play through the Wifi events. I suppose I could but I don't own an action replay or plan to own one. The game is so good though and with stuff like following Pokémon, I always think that nostalgia - it'll always outdo OR/AS, at least for me.

I really like Gen 3. A bunch of powerful/popular Pokémon came out of Hoenn and it had a decent storyline. I really loved the landscape and the sprites. It was the one I have the most memories and the cartridge was really nice looking.

Like I said in another thread, it's kind of a tie between 3 and 5.

Slight edge to 5 because 3 is mostly nostalgia value. (Kinda weird thinking that 5 is 'older' now...)

Gen 3 is my favorite, this was the first gen to introduce to evil teams and ironically my favorite thing about them was that they were trying to save the earth. My favorite thing about gen 3 were the variety of Pokémon and the mysteries of the Regi bro's.

Generation III is my favorite older generation because two of the Hoenn starters (Treecko and Mudkip) are considered to be two of my favorite Pokémon. I also liked playing the games from that generation as well.

It's hard to decide between HGSS and B/W2. Those two games brought me so many memories as well as had great storylines and Pokémon. Both of them had features that attracted me and made me shake my head in awe, such as HGSS's follow-me feature and B/W2's new and improved graphics. I remember reacting very strongly when I first realised that my lead Pokémon could follow me around, as well as during my very first visit to Castelia City.

    Generation Four, all the way.
Firstly, it was my starting generation. I loved the story, the Pokémon, everything about it. Platinum is easily my favorite game of the main series currently.

Hoenn! My two favorite Pokémon were introduced in Hoenn, and I love all the water in it. <3

This is so tricky but I've always enjoyed Gen 4 (Platinum as favorite game) including the Pokémon starters, gym, Team Galactic, features and the plot in general.

Gen. IV or Gen. V. Before BW/BW2 and XY, Johto was my favorite region of all time. Gen. IV has HGSS (which I enjoy), 'nuff said. I also really love Platinum due to its plot and post-game content, plus Sinnoh is a fun region to travel around~ Gen. V I love because BW/BW2 are some of the best of the main games plot-wise, region-wise, music-wise, and Pokémon-wise. Also really love the characters in them~

Most likely Hoenn. It introduced some fantastic Pokémon that remain favorites today, like Altaria, Zangoose, Swellow, Milotic, Flygon, Banette, and so on; even now it remains my most replayed generation. Then comes Unova for bringing in some of my favorite NPCs and more awesome Pokémon. <3 Johto is a close third.

Gen 4 probably. I loved all of the changes that came out on that gen. And that's when HGSS came out. I still love those games.

Gen 3. Just an amazing Pokédex filled with so many of my favorites, all really cool and it was just a fun game to play through, elite 4 nothing short of a challenge.

Generation V for me. Black and White with its usage of exclusively new Pokémon, its plot that is way unlike anything the series has had prior, and two epic endgame fights make for a very good experience for me, and then there's Black 2 and White 2 with so many more new features...
