What's your interpretation of how the Vs Seeker works in universe?

Personally I think it works like a radio broadcaster that sends out a signal for other trainers with Vs Seekers to receive.

Personally, I think that the VS Seeker works like this: it registers whenever a trainer has fully-healed his/her Pokémon and opens up a receiving signal for passing trainers to connect with when they activate their own VS Seeker. If they aren't fully healed, or if the trainer has opted to turn his/her VS Seeker off or at least in their equivalent of Airplane Mode, then the signal remains closed and they cannot be re-fought.

I see it as a 'social media outlet' or something like that, where people can announce that they're up for a battle (perhaps just a 'yes or no' response). When you 'use' it, you're actually checking who has responded locally!

Probably comes as a standard issue in a beginner trainer kit. Trainers can opt to keep it on and fine tune to specify what kind of matchup like single, double, triple or something like a 1v1 or such.

It sends a signal to trainers' brains, notifying them that you want to battle them

It's clearly a batsignal calling everyone to get ready to fight.
