Is there a statement you find so wise and true to your life and lessons learned you live by it? Did you hear it somewhere or come up with it? What made you decide this is your #1 code of life? Just a few words can say a lot about someone!

My family motto on my dad's side of the family is this, "Find a way." It isn't what guidesme in life, but I try my best to find a way instead of giving up before even starting.

My motto in life kinda changes in words, but is generally the same thing. "Wake up to tell a new story." To me stories hold a special place in my heart. They are what define the worth of your life and time spent somewhere. It's always important to have a good story on hand to tell. The stories you make and recite can tell what kind of person you are.

I heard mine from a friend once, and I found it so simple yet beautiful in its execution that I stole it for myself.

    "Time machines don't exist."

There is nothing you can do to change your past, so there is no use lamenting or pitying over it. The only thing you can (and should) do is note what happened, so that it serves as a teacher and an experience for you to move forward hence.

Mistakes aren't completely avoidable; one will happen sooner or later. Stupid decisions are similar, though the criteria for such changes as we age. Do you ever look back on your younger self and realise how ridiculous you once were, doing things you would never think to do now in your right mind? You do, don't you? Now wait 3 years and ask that of yourself again, of your past self 3 years before. You'll probably be surprised at the answer. For me that answer has always been 'yes', and I wouldn't doubt that in another 3 years I'll look back at myself now and realise what a fool I was then too.

We are intended to learn from our pasts, not to bemoan them. It's true that who we were then has contributed to shaping who we are today, but then what? Do we accept that as a given and resign ourselves to our behaviours and fate? Or do we utilise that as a stepping stone to develop new outlooks and decisions?

Time machines don't exist. We can't go back to correct our paths and mistakes we did a long time ago, and we can't go back later to correct any mistakes we make right now. All we can do is be very deliberate in our steps.

I have several mottos, but one that stands out is "Everyone counts".

This motto has shaped me who I am today. Every single living being in this world deserves a chance at life. I wouldn't care who a person is, I'd always love them and treat them the way that I would love to be treated. Even if that person has different values than I do, I can never learn to hate. People have been telling me over the years that this is "too far" or "there is always that one person you should hate," but in the end, love wins.

This applies to every individual that lives and breathes. Especially animals and plants. I am a tree-hugger and I love animals. They serve as my greatest friends. I cannot step on an ant because he or she deserves a chance at life. I believe animals and plants are the purest life forms on the planet nothing can change my thought otherwise. Nothing.

Anyway, this motto had honed the gentleness in my heart and had led me to be a sympathetic person who would never discriminate against age, gender, species, religion or anything else.

Was really execpting a "Nothing, what's the motto with you?"

But the one I find myself sticking to is "I'm apart of all that i've met."
Just by living you become a nice big cotton ball that's
haphazzardly getting tangled in the strings of history.

No matter what you do, you matter, and will leave your mark.

"Life is made of opportunities and choices."
Our life is a matter of choices, and it's quite true.
Of course there is no meaning of life. But it shapes who I am today, and so does everyone else.

"Smile and the world smiles with you"

I always strive to make the world happier and to do that, I have cast aside as many negative feelings as I can. If I can influence people to put a smile on their face, no matter how forced it is, then I have helped someone see the joys in joy.

I don't really follow any sort of motto.
I just like making others feel good and laugh so...

    Laughter is the best medicine.

    would work for me.
