What's Your Stress Reliever?

    Stress can be a crushing weight over your head, just waiting for a chance to jump on top of you and break down all your defenses. I'm feeling it right now. How do you managed to relieve your stress so that it doesn't break you?

    My main method is with a quarter. Flipping it, spinning it, tapping it, and just playing with it in general. In fact, I'm playing with it right now. I really like to just have something tangible to play with that my hands can do something with. This helps me get rid of the easily built up small things.

    To help with the larger things, I like to exercise, mostly running though. It clears my mind and helps keep me in shape. Music also helps with clearing my brain of unwanted material. Somehow.

    Personally, I listen to music. Music is an outlet to a lot of my stress with it having so many different varieties of emotions whether it is raw anger or soft and mellow love songs. I feel like music really gives me an option to escape the qualms of the world and sink into the beauty of melodic words and sounds.

    I listen to music, or maybe go blog amusing pictures on tumblr, or post around online. It keeps my hands and my mind busy. When I'm at work and I'm stressed, I tend to fidget with my hair, or hands in some way, etc. Nervous energy, haha.

    Music used to calm me from stress but lately the best way to keep me calm is by taken a walk while listening to music. While walking I'm allowed to think and let my mind flow. I can actually move onto something else that can easily calm me down.

    I don't get stressed out very often, but when I do, I usually listen to music or play Touhou.

    Ignore the fact that Touhou usually causes more stress.

    I play vidya, browse Tumblr and Facebook on Imgur (yay for the existence of tags on there), or simply lie in my bed and daydream while listening to music (and may sometimes fall asleep as a result). Any of these tend to help~

    Typically, the only thing that relieves my stress completely is killing the thing that's causing it. For example, if I'm stressed about an upcoming event, I'm simply going to be stressed until it happens, or gets cancelled or something. Then it instantly goes away.

    But keeping it under control, I like to talk about it with someone, or distract myself with TV shows, movies, books, loud music, or video games. Or a nice nap. <3

    Exercise typically helps me to not feel as stressed overall, though I really have not been exercising enough lately. ;_;

    Depends. If it's just general stress, I'll usually distract myself with games or reading. If I'm stressed about something in particular, I'll hold a sort of mental conference (I'm not crazy) to take apart whatever's frustrating me. If I can find a solution, I'll implement it and stop worrying. If not, then it's beyond my ability to fix and not worth the worry. Of course, the process involves lengthy conversations with empty air and is generally poorly received in public (I'm not crazy).

    My family knows not to interrupt me if I'm having an animated debate with a nearby wall. I'm not crazy.

    When there is something I get very agitated about, I usually go ballistic, somewhat pacing my room, and trying to solve a problem, eventually having a nervous breakdown. To remedy this though, I listen to music or draw. Or just grab someone to talk to.

    I always have something in my hands, whether it is a pen, my keys or whatever random object I can find, you'll most likely always see me holding something. I never thought of it as a stress reliever, but I think it might be :)

    I try sketching or writing. If that doesn't work, I lie on my bed and think about new ideas for my fanfic.
    If all else fails, Watching Anime is the best alternative.

    I enjoy doing art and playing piano to relax but it doesn't help my muscles to relax. For some reason my muscles get really tense when I draw or play piano.

    I'd listen to music or play the piano or the violin. But nowadays, I tend to read and listen to music at the same time to relieve my stress.

    Tip: If you know that you get very tensed up near an exam, then perhaps you might wanna try doing these:

    1) Listen attentively in your class. Teachers tend to hint on what's coming out for the exams and how to tackle such questions.
    2) Work on your problem sets properly. They give you a feel of what's gonna come out for that topic. Also, you might wanna try re-working on them after your tutor gave you a cross on your solution.
    3) If possible, work on additional problems in your own free time. I believe that your tutors will be more than willing to mark if you're willing to do extra practice. It also demonstrates positive attitude towards learning.
    4) Revise constantly (maybe you might want to read through your notes at the end of each lesson/lecture). Do not wait till the last minute before you panic.

    Well these are some tips I'm using (it feels so good being an accelerated kid and yet being able to maintain at the top of the cohort hehe)

    When i stressed(caused by the school) i listen to classical music or Pokémon ost that are calm, or also getting a nap, and lastly watch tv shows and cartoons help ^__^.

    I play video games that don't make me super competitive. Sometimes I just teambuild on Showdown and mess around in the Lobby to distract myself, but I rarely play actual ladder matches, because I tend to get even more worked up over silly things.

    Part of me thinks that's why I just stopped playing League, it felt like everyone was too competitive and nobody wanted to just have fun and mess around unless they were leagues ahead with a guaranteed win.
