Anyone that have ever played a pokémon game have experienced it, the game does something that either makes things 10x harder than it should have been or just outright ensures you lose. Especially those of you that have done nuzlocke runs, you usually always see that one crit that kills your allowed capture or that status effect appearing on your pokémon right at its most critical moment in battle where you can't afford to slip up. For the past few days I've had my Sun game troll me really hard with status hax while SOS chaining, every time I heal a status it would just be right back. This continued for a good 2 days to the point where ended up rage quitting the chaining of those two mons I was hunting. Another time that really hit me hard was doing my Emerald Nuzlocke, I was at the champion, we both were down to out last pokémon, Sceptile vs Milotic. My Sceptile could survive 2 attacks while my Sceptile would take 55% of the Milotics health in one hit. Then on the round that would decide everything the Milotic landed a critical hit and ended my challenge right there and then with only one move from completing it.
One troll I have been dealing with is the constant dealing wirh crita at thw worst ever time during nuzlockes.
When you spend days hatching eggs for a shiny... only to find a wild shiny Pokémon on accident. When the Pokéball shakes the max number of times but keeps breaking at the last bit OVER and OVER again to put the frustration and anticipation of catching a mon over the edge. Missing four times in a row with a 95% accurate move. I'm looking at you Air Slash. When you find a horde of shinies and one of horde pokes kills the shiny (magnitude geodude...).
A soul silver randomzied nuzlocke, had a hard battle with my rival, most of my team was down and it was just my starter, after winning I step onto a piece of grass and there i find Lugia. My team died that day, as did my heart
One of the struggles with hunting cutiefly was the constant paralysis. Luckily I had near 1000 cheri berries, but it was still annoying. Other trolls might be times the game wants me to lose. I don't enjoy those scripted losses.
The confusion status...period. For whatever reason, I attack myself like 90% of the time and the foe might as well not even be afflicted with it at all.
Pokémon Reborn, makes Monoruns (More so Nuzlocks) pretty much impossible. Example: Lvl 75 Garchomp against your Team thats highest should be like Lvl 30. To win that scripted loss you really need to luck out with Sand Attack and I've only seen that work with Dark-type Monos...... Missing an attack that would OHKO but then get your mon KOed from the defending Pokémon's Attack Shinies trying to kill themselves (Looks at Politoed....)
I was playing a Black randomizer once and found my favorite Pokémon. Hooray! Too bad 90% of them in the wild had Slow Start as an ability... Also when the opponent manages to pull off Protect four times. That's too many.
During my Nuzlockes, I always seem to get hit by a critical when my Pokémon would have been able to survive an ordinary hit. It happened to my pansage in my White Nuzlocke and now my geodude in my Diamond Nuzlocke. I really hope it doesn't happen again in the future... When I first think of trolls in the Pokémon games, I think of that woman in Snowpoint City who trades a haunter for a medicham. I was so excited about this as I really wanted a gengar, so I went ahead and traded and then she revealed that the haunter was holding an everstone. After I'd given up a perfectly good medicham. Good riddance.
I'm not sure if this really counts, but I've gotten Pokerus more than I've encountered shiny Pokémon despite it supposedly being far more rare.
My biggest troll was in sun and moon during the ultra beast quests. The Pokémon kept waking up after one or two turns then knocking out my poor capture smeargle. The amount of times I had to reset and try again was ridiculous. Because I refused to use any beast balls, it took me about a week to get everything.
