As authors, we make stories, do we not? And of course, we usually have to write or type them down somewhere. Where do you write your stories down? Do you write them down somewhere first before typing it on your computer? Do you immediately type on your computer? Or do you write them somewhere else? And let's not forget about where you are when you're writing them. Do you write on the go? Or do you prefer to write in the comfort of home?

I write almost everywhere. When at school, I have a notebook where I write my fanfics in. I generally like to write my stories down first. I even have more than three different books that I write them in. XD I also type on my tablet and my phone, especially my phone when I go out to places, like the mall for example. My phone is pretty good for that, since it has an actual keypad. After I have them written down and finished, I type them down again on my computer to upload at fanfiction.net. That's usually how I do things. How about you guys?

I'd like to think that I do my first draft in my dreams since mine are lucid. Before I write each chapter, I dream of what I want to happen and see how it plays out. When I wake up, I write it on my laptop (sta.sh) in my writing stage, often in my room or living room so long. I often write to music that fits the mood to help get back into the midset of the dream. After it's done, I go through the editing stage and go back to the dream stage once or twice more to finalize it before submitting. My editing stage is usually 1-2 weeks, depending on how much I can get done.

Edit: I submit my final drafts to Deviant Art, because fanfiction.net is an asshole.

I don't think I dream about my stories exactly, but I do think and daydream a lot about it, does that count?

    Why is fanfiction.net an asshole?

I think it does, as I always think about future chapters ahead of time before I sleep.

It never lets me upload a new chapter and when I do, the text comes out garbled. I gave it up as a hassle and decided to keep it to my original dA page.

Ha ha, yep. That happens, I get what you mean. I get missing words in my chapters every now and again, but I think I've had it easy compared to you . I usually just edit it again. I don't have a dA account, would you recommend it to me?

I write on Fanfiction.net and I've never had a problem. I will use google docs, if I'm on the go and when I'm at my computer, I'll write the first draft on Microsoft word. Sometimes I'll post on DA or AO3, but not often.

I would. You may not get the same kind of attention, as dA is more of an art site. I often commission art for my series as well.

I open Pages, a Microsoft Word-like program for Mac, and start typing there. It's my baby and I can't use any other program at this point, Notepad included, unless it's Word itself.. but I used to write short stories out in notebooks way back when. Would've said that's restricting but I didn't even retype them on the computer later since I re-read them through my notebooks when I felt like it. c:
