Electric Feel by MGMT reminds me of the good days my childhood and always makes me happy listening to it. So guess that counts as being meanful to me A lot of ABBA songs evoke the same feeling from me. I listened to them a lot grwoing up because my mother is also a big fan of them.
This might be seen as cliched, but Amazing Grace definitely means the most to me. I am a wretched fool without Jesus, and yet He loved me enough to die so that I could live with Him forever.
Ed Sheeran's Affire Love is probably the song that hold the most meaning to me at the moment. My grandpa's health and especially his mental health is quickly declining and I am worried about him.
A song that means a lot to me? For me, it's the Earthbound/Mother 8 Melodies, or Smiles and Tears. I don't have an emotional connection to it, but the lyrics and translation just mean so much to me. (Yes, I am a nerd. Fight me.)
Every time I hear Julie London's version of "Cry Me A River", it gets to me. Every time I hear it I clam up and am reminded that I'm not always the best I can be. Even typing this up is taking me longer than it should... But only Julie London's version. Michael Buble butchered it (though anything else he does is A+).
The only song coming to my mind right now is one that my dad wrote called 'Searching for the Magic'. It's a pretty song, but it mostly means a lot to me because, well, my dad wrote it. But also because it was the first legit song that I taught myself how to play on the piano, and it's just a lot of fun to play. (I'm not counting the 'songs' I learned while learning how to play the piano, because those were created to be played by beginners).
I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor. My parents used to play it in the car when I was a child and I still love it now. It’s dated, yet timeless. I also point to this song as the one that started my love for disco music.
Cinderella by Stephen Curtis Chapman (I believe). I used to hear it on the radio when I was younger and my mom and sisters and I love the song. My dad put it in my 8th grade graduation video and within the first few seconds I heard it I started tearing up
Right now, Final Fantasy XIV's Dragonsong makes me feel an immeasurable surge of emotions... It's insanely beautiful and powerful, lyrics really do make me think about the state of the world since it's still so relatable. I lovelove it, and it reminds me of why I love the game so much!
>.>'' Baby Mine from Disney's Dumbo Sounds dumb, but mom used to sing it to me when we watched Dumbo, and was genuinely upset this one time I was sick and failed to let her know I had watched Dumbo. To this day, if I play this song, I can still hear hear voice and it makes me cry my eyes out. Just remembering it makes me cry (..yeah, even right now).
Hmm... This is a tough one, I admit... I think it might be Courtesy Call by Thousand Foot Crutch. This is one I hold close, as it was the first ever song I memorized and liked at all. And with that, it's been the song I've listened to for years as I've written my stories. It's just a song I hold dear since it's been there since the beginning.
