Why Lyra, and not Kris?

My guess is that maybe because Kris was in Crystal and not Gold/Silver they decided that Kris shouldn't be in Gold/Silver remakes as they weren't Crystal remakes. That's the best theory I've got :/ I prefer Kris more, I like her design and sometimes Lyra's hat looks a little too big on her overworld sprite.

 

I think they chose Lyra because of her being in the anime, and what RedScizor said, because Kris was in crystal.
Though, I prefer Lyra more, that hat reminds me of Mario. <3

 

I was sad when Kris wasn't in the remake. I loved her design in the original game. Plus she was the first female character you could play as in the entire franchise. So it did kinda surprise me that she didn't make a cameo or something somewhere in the remakes. Though sometimes I think the pigtails of Lyra make me think of her. But I also think of may at the same time.

I'm not very fond of lyra. Though I did think of Super Mario when i saw her hat XD

 

Gotta agree, its cuz she wasnt in GS, just in C. That said, I feel they shoulda brought the first female protagonist back in the remakes, and its odd they didnt.

 

I never really knew about Kris, since I chose boy on Crystal. Lyra you can't forget because she calls you up every ten minutes to tell you how her Pokémon evolved, even though it didn't, or how she needs to clean it, or what her dad thinks of you, etc. I'd like it if the other protagonist played a more important part in the games.

 

Simply because blue hair is so 2001.

 

I don't know, and I was pretty angry they took Kris out. I'd always pick the girl in Crystal, so she held mild sentiment to me. However, I would jump on board with what RedScizor said.

 

I never played Crystal, only Silver, so I never really developed any sentimental feelings for Kris. Though, I wished they just kept it for continuity's sake. I really liked it in the manga where Kris and Lyra were the same person. That would prevent so many questions...

And what's wrong with blue hair anyway? (LOL, biased. XD)

 

I preferred Kris. Her design was better, mostly because she didn't have a hat bigger than her head.
