Will Ash use Mega-Evolution?

I haven't caught up on the anime much, but I kinda doubt it. Ash doesn't really evolve his Pokémon anyway, so I don't know if he would mega evolve them.

If he does end up doing it though, I kinda hope Charizard makes a return or something. (8

 

I don't think he will, because that would make him use that Pokémon way too often... Maybe he'll use it once or twice as an exception, but I don't think he will ever have a Pokémon and a corresponding Mega Stone in his possession for a longer period of time. Besides, he left all of his Pokémon behind when he left for Kalos, and since only Diancie has a Mega Evolution in Gen VI, he won't be able to Mega Evolve any of his Pokémon at all

 

It would be nice if he did, especially if one of his older Pokémon came back. I don't think he would catch a newer Pokémon and have it Mega Evolve, since Mega Evolution does require a strong bond- which he shares with pretty much all of his already-caught Pokémon.

The Pokémon he currently has that can Mega Evolve are Charizard, Sceptile, Glalie, and Heracross (he had Pidgeot at one point, and Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Gible could be Megas if they evolved, but all of those are very unlikely). Glalie and Heracross seem unlikely, and Mega Charizard has already been featured so many times in specials and whatnot, so I can honestly see him having Sceptile come back at one point and Mega Evolving. He had a really strong bond with Sceptile, and it's one of his strongest Pokémon, too, plus he doesn't have a Grass-type on his team yet.

Other than that, I don't really see him catching a new Pokémon to Mega Evolve. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what the last member of his team is going to be, since he has 5 at the moment (Pikachu, Frogadier, Fletchinder, Hawlucha, and Goomy).

 

If anything I have had a recent theory that might prove Ash may actually have the power to Mega evolve in the future, and maybe for only one time. If you recall in the Pokémon Special Mega Evolution Act 1, the trainer Alain finds a new Mega stone, now I want you to look at this Mega stone too btw.

Now what stone could this possibly be? After some inspection, my first idea would be it's Charizardite-Y
But after some further speculation, it might actually be Gyradosite, as you can see a hint of blue.

So yea maybe this isn't a Charizard Mega stone. But wait, if you guys haven't realized, I have yet to see Charizard-Y in the anime, in any shape or form. If anything Charizard-X has been the only thing that has been seen. Now what if..they are saving Charizard-Y for a later time, and that Ash will be the first to use Charizard-Y? Honestly I can see it happening some time in the future. Someone will give Ash a mega ring, and eventually Ash will find a mega stone. I also feel Alain will cross paths with Ash in some form, and will be the one who teaches Ash about Mega evolution. Lets not forget the point of Mega evolution. Mega evolution occurs between trainers, and their bond with their Pokémon, and knowing Ash, second to his bond with Pikachu, could possibly be Charizard. Lets hope something comes of Charizard-Y.

 

Ash has access to quite a few mega evolving Pokémon if you take a good look at it, so him not mega evolving at least one of them is going to be a gigantic and huge shocker. I'll make a quick little list here of them (post-note - I realized that Del already mentioned them after writing this but I'll leave it here for reference sake):
- Glalie
- Pidgeot
- Charizard
- Sceptile
- Heracross

The other ones (being Venusaur and Blastoise), I don't think we'd ever see from Ash since both Pokémon refuse to evolve on their own accord, so mega evolving is completely out of the question with them.

Out of the listed, all of them have an exceptional bond with Ash. However, narrowing it down further to how strong said bond is the most likely candidates would be Pidgoet and Charizard, with Charizard having been brought in pretty much every single season its pretty expected on my half that we'd see him and see mega evolution. However, as much as I'd like to see Charizard Y I'm going to assume he'd end up with a mega Charizard X instead since it's being used as an ad grab so much. But I'd love to see Y get some action, especially with Charizard showing pride in not being part dragon type (ala Black/White's post-gym season).

 

I doubt Ash will M-Evolve any of his Pokémon. It just doesn't feel right to have him M-Evolve them, since he's always been a trainer mostly focused on bringing out the full potential of his Pokémon as they already are, evolutions and handicaps and all. Plus I kinda feel like if he does, it'll be a one-off like in a movie.

If he ever did have a Pokémon Mega Evolve, I'd like it to be Charizard.

 

I think that it is very possible from him to have a Mega Charizard and maybe even Mega Sceptile. There is really no telling considering how unpredictable the anime can be.

 

He better! There are so many good candidates he could use. Go for it Ash!

 

MEGA CHARIZARD FOR THE WIN~
Ash, will eventually use mega evolution, as in Black and White arc, he brought Charizard back, and I think the creators did that for a reason. All he needs now is a Mega stone and a bracelet~

 

Typical ash doesnt even need to evolve his Pokémon to be a mega because he's quite that guy.
However, mega charizard and stuff like that will be cool.

 

I'm pretty sure Ash is too stupid to mega evolve his Pokémon... I'm sorry, but in the recent anime he isn't all that smart anymore. Sure he has the friendship bond with his Pokémon down, but I doubt someone who relies on screaming his belief for Pikachu to use Megas, and as previously mentioned, it will likely mean that he will use some Pokémon way more than others, which is not Ash's thing.

 

I would like to add a little something here... a lot of people have been saying that Ash likes to bring the best in his Pokémon the way they are.... but what if his Pokémon themselves choose to gro stronger and ask for the ability to mega evolve...... Charizard is the most suitable candidate to do So since be has the most vibrant history with Ash.... has fought a legendary and is one of the strongest Pokémon portrayed in the anime to be owned by a trainer...... Pidgeot is a distant thought...... but be is also a possibility since the writers may want to bring back an almost forgotten character... but rest of his Pokémon don't have that good of a chemistry with him....

Personally, I hope that Ash will either mega evolve Charizard or Sceptile. Charizard Y would be cool, and would make sense, especially if that was mega charizardite y that Alain found. But Mega Sceptile makes sense sense the Hoenn remakes came out. It would be awesome if ash went back to hoenn for a season after the Kalos League so that he can learn about mega evolution and spend more time with his friends.
