Do you have wired or wireless internet? Do you prefer one over the other? What do you think are the advantages or disadvantages of having one over the other?

I have a wireless. I'm told that wired connections are faster, but I don't want to stretch a cord across my house to my desktop. A wireless connection works just fine, and is still fast enough for all my needs.

Well, I have both, but I mostly use a wireless connection. I do think a wired connection is superior because of the slightly faster speeds you can gain off it.

Technically I have both, but the wired connection is mostly in case the Wi-Fi flips out again when I'm doing homework or something. The vast majority of the time my laptop runs on wireless internet, and I like that better because it means my laptop's portable. :D But the Wi-Fi here tends to flip out quite a bit, thus the necessary backup.

I think that I have entirely transitioned to wireless. My family likes me because I'm the only one who knows the password :)

Probably one of the few non-wireless folks here. I'm on Verizon FiOS but having wired 'net doesn't bother me since I can create a WiFi hotspot using my laptop. The speeds are fantastic as well.

I use a little socket thing that plugs into the wall, which lets you run a Wired internet connection through the mains cables of your house. I don't know how the thing works, but I do know that despite being way away from the router, I still get perfect wired internet thanks to whatever-the-heck this thing is! :P

I also have my computer run a Wireless hotspot, because my room is out of the router's Wi-Fi range. And a lot of my devices need that. So here I am. Technology prevails once again. :3

While growing up we had that slow as dial up wire internet that made everything complicated. I'm sure some of you guys know what I'm talking about. Until then, it was the main source of internet that I had until... I think when I was 13 we went to wireless internet. When I got kicked out of my parents place and stayed at my friends she had wired internet so I knew that was going to be a trip but it wasn't slow, and it worked just as good as wireless. But since I am living on my on, and a spoiled brat sometimes, I have wireless and sometimes it just doesn't do me justice.

Wireless internet FTW. I like moving laptops to where I want, playing with my 3DS without problems and also wireless is better for me sine it fails lesser than the wired one.

I use wireless for laptops and wired for desktops since you don't move desktops around.

We have wireless. But i would prefer wired, since it's usually faster and more reliable in games or such!

Tho wireless is better for a lot of people, who use it for mostly school "grade" things!

Although I like wireless internet, I do believe its kind of slow. It kind of is better altogether, when you're bored at the airport and stuff, but I prefer the old enthernet wire.
I swear, I've plugged that thing in and out so many times, it's kinda nice to get some ex resize when you're on the computer~

The last time I checked, desktops don't have wireless internet. So I really don't have a choice here.

I'm actually curious as to which out of wired or wireless internet has its problems easier to diagnose. I have had experience with both and I find them both equally frustrating, though they were mostly just issues with the modem itself. But I guess that is a story for another day.

I use wireless for all my devices since it's the most convenient for me. 'Tis the age of the wireless.

I use wireless, and it's flawless. One problem is that it cuts off often but i just restart my computer to fix it

I prefer to use wireless because it's convenient, and also because it's more widely available in my country than by using wired internet nowadays.

I prefer wireless over wired, but when it comes to my laptop or Xbox, I don't mind using wired.
Obviously, I can't use a wired connection on my phone, so I use wifi on that.
Usually, when my modem is working like it should, I don't have too many problem with my internet, whether it's wired or wireless, so I'm fine with either one.

I think we have different definitions of "flawless". :P

What I meant is that it works flawlessly in terms of speed, but it cuts off, so it's the speed, not the reliability.
Still my WiFi is still that reliable :)
