This is a topic I've been meaning to start for quite some time! In essence, this topic will be used for me to review games as I'm playing, finishing, and 100% completing (some of) them. Here's a quick rundown of what this topic is all about:

    - I am usually very optimistic about games, and focus much more on the positive than the negative (though occasionally I'll rant about Pokémon ;))
    - I'm not anywhere close to a professional writer, but I do love games, thus why I'm making this.
    - All of you are free to comment on these games too, in any capacity. I'd appreciate this too because double-posting, haha. Heck, you can even make your own thread where you review games!
    - No posting schedule will be in place for this. I'm trying to 100% Super Mario Odyssey right now, for example, and who knows how long that will take.

    First review:
Alright! First, I would like to talk about a game that I poured 100 hours of my life into since October: Star Wars Battlefront (2015).

I tried this game at a friend's house back in late 2015. Like most FPS (First Person Shooter) games that I play, my level of skill was instantly subpar, and I didn't have a ton of fun. Graphically, the game caught a hold of me immediately, however.

Jump to the start of October 2018. While perusing the Xbox Store, I saw a stunning sale in which this game was only $4.50! The sale ended just a few hours later, so I knew that I had to act quickly. On a whim, I purchased the game.

Upon getting the game, I tried the single player mode: Survival. It was vaguely reminiscent of other survival modes that I've played in other FPS, but actually pretty underwhelming. It was too easy just to run away, and taking down the incoming AT-ST's by myself was really difficult, especially considering the lack of weaponry. This mode was good fun for a little while, but I grew bored quickly. However, this mode did allow me to get a basic feel for the controls, movement, and quirks of the game.

Online mode is where the game excels! There is a standard game mode called Walker Assault. If you are familiar with Star Wars, then this game mode should sound familiar to you. In essence, there are two teams of 20 players each. One side plays as the rebellion, and is trying to take down the AT-AT by summoning Y-Wings to break through their shield defense. Depending on how long they keep stations called "uplinks" running, they have more time to bombard the AT-AT. The Empire's job is to shut down the uplinks and stop the rebels from destroying the walker before it reaches the end. Between 40 players, it never gets chaotic, but it never gets dull. The wide variety of weapons, explosives, and various tools make the game dynamic. Whether it be a small grenade that heals you and nearby teammates fully or a jet pack that propels you a decent distance, there is a variety of tactics you can employ. There are also floating blue tokens everywhere that will give you cool things like an X-Wing, Thermal Imploder (super strong grenade), or even the controls of the AT-ST guns! Unlike several other online multiplayer games, this game has small implementations that make it so you can communicate effectively with teammates and achieve your goals. The biggest lifesaver of all is perhaps the spawning mechanic. You get a partner that you can spawn next to as long as they aren't in the thick of combat, which saves a ton of travel time.

Now the best part of the game: the heroes! Those familiar with Star Wars are familiar with great characters like Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Darth Vader, Boba Fett, etc. Each of these characters are playable in this game! There are game modes dedicated to them, or each side in the Walker Assault can have one at a time, depending on who picks up the right bonus token on the ground. These are the options:
Rebellion: Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia Organa, Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian, Jyn Erso, and everybody's favorite... Nien Nunb??
Empire: Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine, Boba Fett, Greedo, Bossk?, Dengar?, and Director Krennic??? (Lots of obscure choices here, but fun ones if you are into Star Wars)

These characters have the capability to change the entire flow of battles. This depends on the person who gets it however. There are people who don't care about the objective and go purely for personal stats with the heroes. These people need to be banned permanently because HOW WUDE.A hero spawning in at the right time can push an army forward or backwards by a good distance and secure a victory. An inexperienced or selfish hero won't do much for the team and will give the other team an advantage.

I left a lot of details out, but this game has gorgeous graphics, fun customization, and some extremely polished gameplay. My verdict for this game is...

95/100 - The online is a near perfect experience, although the game could use a few more game modes to make it more relevant beyond the near future.

Props to you if you actually read this.

Depending on if other people actually read this, I will make a new post for each review, or edit the original.
