    Team Members:

    Completed Species:
Shades are an elf-like race considered to be the keepers of shadows. Their power is control of the darkness (For most Shades: this does not apply to shadows of living creatures) around them; though, each has a different style of manipulation. Where one's shadows may appear as flames, another's may appear as electricity. While rare, there are some Shades who have free-form control, meaning they can adjust their shadows to fit the styles of others (staff permission required). Shades usually achieve full control of their own Shadow by a young age, which enables them to fuse with it in order to achieve a (temporary) state of intangibility, as well as the ability to manipulate their own Shadow rather than those around them.
The Shades received their name from the abnormal properties of their Shadows*. In the event that a Shadow is separated from its Shade, it becomes a ghost of its owner, taking with it most of its Shade's shadow abilities. While all shadows are alive*, a Shade's is able to feel and live on its own. A majority of Shadows cannot process complex thoughts and as such act primarily on instinct. They are capable of feeling emotion, but do so at half the strength as a Shade. While Shadows are able to live without their Shade, they still require sustenance to survive, and feast off of the shadows of edible material. A Shade is not able to separate from their Shadow at will. This will only occur if a Shade's body dies and its Shadow escapes, or if a Shade is forced into the Twilight World while lacking proper control of their Shadow.
Shades are a varied species. They reside in anywhere from kingdoms to small tribes, and have an intense difference in culture depending on their location; those who live in a Shade kingdom will have a culture that differs greatly from those that live in a small tribe.
*When referring to the shadow of a Shade, it is capitalized.
*Due to magic, it has been discovered shadows, along with several other substances, are in fact living things.

Vampires are a species that are dependent on the consumption of aspects of other organisms. They walk the land in a great variety of races. What sets them apart lies in what they rely on for sustenance. Their energy sources may come from blood, life energy, emotion, dreams, magic or elements. How each race feeds differs; though, each must make physical contact with their prey in order to feast. After consumption, vampires create no waste. All absorbed energy is recycled, until depleted. Vampires are not capable of magic, and instead utilize their natural abilities, which allow them to manipulate their respective energy sources. A blood-dependent vampire is capable of bending blood to their will, while one that consumes dreams creates vivid illusions that, when utilized by the most skilled, become reality.

The Bahn: A draco-humanoid race with skin hued with grays and dull browns, they are tall and muscular - for the most part - and have long, spiked tails and horns.
Their skin darkens in their horns and to the tips of each limb (their tails included), and whilst they seem to have a more human body type than dragon, their feet are heavy dragon paws. Their skin is laced with scales, and the occasional blackened spike.
Their eyes are sunken and a clear colour, usually blues or greens, without pupils.

Those Bahn who possess any form of magical power would have gained it ritually, their skin marked with deep rune-like scars into the flesh.
The Bahn who have gained some form of military or noble status are then engraved, much like the casters, with a small set of runes above / around one of their eyes, signifying an 'all-seeing' or 'all-knowing' state.

Their nature is similar to humans, however, their savage appearance holds them far above in the lines of ferocity and warfare. They have a history for destruction, and there are rumours of taint within their bloodlines, causing them to spread disease.

Aviary - This race is much taller and more slender than humans. They tend to have a certain grace and nobility about them. The most notable feature of this species is their wings, which are found in a wide variety of colors and patterns. They are a peaceful and kind-natured race that is always willing to help others. Their abilities are highly geared towards support and healing, as well as manipulation of light. They are highly opposed to confrontation by nature. Though they are often called angels, these folk were not descendants from heaven, and are not holy by any means.

Elementals - Over the years, various elements of nature were constantly exposed to different kinds of magic. In this way, Elementals were born. There are many different kind of Elementals. Their body in itself is their ability, their weapon and source of energy. They vary widely in appearance. Some take on human-like guises, and some the raw essence of their element. They are almost pure magic. Depending on what they are made of, they can be vicious, peaceful, or somewhere in between. Elementals don't have births or death, they only cease to exist once the magic in their bodies runs off, something that can take several centuries to happen.

Nymphs - The Nymphs are beings deeply connected with nature. They are a female-only race, a group of spirits who take the form of beautiful maidens. Their settlements can be found in trees by riversides, forests, and lush, green hilltops. Any landscaped inhabited by Nymphs will vibrate with energy and life, for the Nymphs themselves can animate nature. Plants, water and the earth itself are within the grasp of the Nymph's respectful control, and they can also command intelligent animals to a certain degree.
Usually, Nymphs don't contact other species, and even within their own species they are somewhat secluded. Different tribes only get together twice a year, in the Twin Summer Solstice, where they sing and dance in a frenzied state.

Centaurs - Centaurs are a formidable race of demi-humans: Their torso, arms and head, are like those of the humans, but the rest of their body is like that of a horse [or a mare]. However, not only is their anatomy different, but also their nature. Their attitude is not of one thing nor the other, it contains the human logical thought, but also the rash and impulsive instincts of a stallion. A centaur shall never be tamed, for it is not wholly an animal.
Centaurs live by forests. They have a deep understanding of nature and they always know where they are, since they know each and every star on the sky. They've got a very good memory, and they are adept at using all sorts of weaponry.

Merpeople - Merpeople are an amphibious race that inhabit the rivers and seas of Eda. They show incredible variety among their species.
Their bodies, while humanoid, feature adaptations and traits of other marine life, such as a crab's claw or a shark's teeth. These attributes are different for every merperson, and while some may be similar, no two are the same.
Though primarily aquatic, merpeople are capable of living on land; however, this makes their movements sluggish and puts great strain on their bodies.
A merperson's abilities depend on their environment. While those inhabiting a body of water are capable of manipulating water, those living in the sea of fire can make flames respond to their will.

We are open to suggestions for species and changes to make to species.

Thank you so much! I replaced the Soilbrood with The Bahn. The Bahn are really well developed so they'll be a great addition to Eda.

Yeah. The playable species are humanoid only, by the way.

    it is... sorta :P

Imito - The race of the mimics. The people of this race are adaptable, perceptive and good at blending in. Some could attribute this to their inelegance, some say its due to necessity, but... Anyone who knows anything about them knows its because they are shape shifters. Their race is naturally a slime-like race capable of taking the form and abilities of whatever they wish, though skill is something they must gain for themselves. They survive by taking the form of those dominant in the area, blending with their people and remaining that way until the need for change arises. Stories are told of Imito who lived so long among another race that they had forgotten what they really were.

Here are the the races I talked about yesterday, of course, I'll add anymore I come up with or we need!

The Celestians: Supposedly, the original ancestors of the Aviary, unlike their similar counterparts, the Celestians only harbor white wings that can come in only very slight tints with differentiating variants of white. Celestians come far and few to the land-world of Eda and even fewer stay without a personal or issued goal. Celestians excel in light and healing magic, and do not often go out of their field of said strengths without an Archangel's permission. Because a Celestian's home world remains hidden in the clouds, they can be found in almost every terrain of Eda that isn't barred by frigid weather. Celestians often get mistaken for pure Angels when they are truly the closest decedents of Angels and not directly so themselves, since this can cause issues with other species' beliefs many usually hide their wings within cloaks or robes. Celestians are bound by strict rules brought by Celestia, and if broken can be banned from Celestia and stripped of their wings. Each Celestian has a different color and shape halo, and some none at all. Most use their halos as a way to display their rank or status within their home world.

The Erdgeists: Earth spirits who bind themselves to life size dolls so they can perform physical functions. Erdgeists are easily distinguishable from living organisms due to their brightly glowing eyes exerting from the soul inside of them. Erdgeists carry little emotion because their souls already expend much of their energy keeping their artificial bodies moving. While Erdgeists are earth spirits they can learn all variations of elemental magic. An Erdgeist can leave the doll it inhabits for any period of time, though they are fragile because their bodies aren't built out of strong material. Erdgeists are free roaming, but many of them serve mercenaries as party members or just as servants to Eda inhabitants in general because of their mechanical personas. Anyone who is able to ignite an Erdgeist's emotions is said to be able to bond with any and all races in the world.

The Sprites: Fairy like creatures who are often mischievous in nature, though many sprites carry valuable information about the land and what lies within it. What sprites lack in strength they make up for in their speed provided by their wings. Sprites aren't trusted by many other races because they tend to go back on their words, though a trustworthy sprite is a valuable ally. Aside from their fairy wings, the most common sprite trait is their green-tinted hair (though there are few that negate this) and each have different shaped ears that twitch, move, and droop depending on their current emotions. Sprites aren't significantly talented in magic, though because they aren't bound by strong beliefs many delve in the dark arts or perform alchemy- that can sometimes be unethical. Sprites dwell within areas of Eda scattered with large amounts of vegetation.
