Wonder Trade

I've only done a few Wonder Trades since I have to travel to a hotspot to use Wifi, but I got a decent few. Nothing super special, but helpful. First one I got was a Lairon, which is great because I have Y and it's an X exclusive, I got a Contintental Pattern Vivillon, and an Eevee which just saves me time from catching more to get all of the evolutions. Not bad.

 

I haven't had good luck with it, thus far. I got a Squirtle for a Bunnelby I think, but otherwise a lot of cool ones, I already had. (like Noibat) I'll have to do a lot of breeding or just catch a bunch of random Pokémon, if I really wanna find much use of Wonder Trade. I've traded off Torchics, Deino and Froakies with egg moves, just to get a Bidoof and Bunnelby? Yeah-sorry. No. Not really getting the full enjoyment, there.

 

I've been Masuda-ing for a shiny Swirlix; the rejects I send to the Wonder Trade.

I've gotten a lot of non-English Pokémon for future Masuda-ing, so that's cool. I've also gotten a few Scatterbugs/Vivillions from other regions.
Some of the gems I've gotten include: Fennekin, Froakie, Eevee, Klefki, Goomy, Pumpkaboo that immediately evolved into a Gourgeist, Bergmite, and Spritzee.
Usually I get Fletchlings or Pikachus, though.

 

I've had alot of luck with it. Sometimes I get stuff I don't want or don't really need. I mostly use it to fill up the dex though, so if I have any Pokémon in my pc that I will not end up using, and if they are already fully evolved, then I'll send it out. I did get a japanese lvl 30 galvantula once, but I traded that away too. There are a few that I keep, like how I got a fennekin and zorua, which were both lvl 1 and means they had been hatched.So, tbh I haven't really had a bad trade yet, seeing as I don't send off anything that I need, and if I get something that I don't need I'll just send it right back out, this has gotten me quite a few jpn Pokémon. I'm still waiting on squirtle and froakie.

I got an Adamant Tyrunt for a Scatterbug and a few Japanese Pokémon with good natures. I was really hoping to get a Noibat tho...
Sometimes I feel really guilty when I give out lame and low leveled 'mons but get these awesome Pokémon in exchange. It's hardly fair to those who spent a lot of time breeding them, I think.

 

What exactly is the Wonder Trade? I never seen it in my game at all, where do I go to use it?

 

It's an option in the PSS menu. The little blocky icon at the top center while on the PSS screen opens the menu, and Wonder Trade is an option. It's a completely random trade with a completely random player. You mostly get lame Pokémon, but sometimes it can surprise you. You get a lot of Japanese Pokémon that way too.

I got a Larvesta yesterday from it, which was pretty cool.

I got a lot of forgein mons like Furfrou, Bulbasaur, Gengar, and some other stuff I can't remember right now. I mostly got Bunnelbies and Fletchlings from those people who just started and wanted to try out Wonder Trading. I usually give out my Masuda rejects, or those mons that I already fully evolved but didn't want to keep. I wonder how that person who gave me that lvl. 3 Fletchling felt receiving a lvl. 40 Stunfisk? XD

I don't mind giving away high leveled mons. I feel rather happy giving them out. Though, sometimes I feel sad that all I receive are Fletchlings and the like from the US. I wouldn't mind other foreign mons but...

 

I'm one of those people who only give good Pokémon in Wonder Trades, and I release the worms/normals I get with this method. I've already got a Togepi, Shroomish, ALL basic Dragon-Type Pokémon (even thought I got some of them without this trading), Clawitzer, Durant, Ditto, Scyther, Phantump (which evolved into a Trevenant), most starters (except Bulbasaur), Marill, Eevee, etc. Of course, I've got some wrong things too, but as I said, I release them instead of sending them to other people, and I'm also trying to do quality trades with it, helping the others to complete the Pokédex (so I send the things I don't need from my PC).

I got a freaking Zygarde. I don't even know what Pokémon I traded for it, but now I have 2 Zygardes!!! Go WonderTrade!

 

I got a perfect natured and IV'ed japanese gastly. I got the same with a torchic and a hidden ability.

 

I've done wonder trade once. Gave away a Vivillion (River) and got a Croagunk in return.

I'm planning on that if I ever find a shiny Espurr, nicknaming it Contract? and sending it over Wonder Trade, hoping they get the reference.
