titling this was hella hard and I still don't like it lol Some of us harbor a lot of love for the place we live in now and have plans to live out our lives there forever. Others are anxious to leave and experience something new. What do you think of the place you currently live in? Would you want to retire and spend the rest of your life there, or would you rather go elsewhere?
No, I would gladly leave Louisiana in a heart beat. I’d also like to leave the country of the United States. Preferably, I’d like to live in a country where laws are in place protecting how food is grown and prepared and what chemicals are used with them.
Absolutely not. New York City is a great place for tourists, but actually living here? I wanna go somewhere far away from here.
If I could I would leave immediately. It's always too hot and humid. I'd go somewhere cold. I really want to go to Europe, so maybe I'll just live there.
I like where I live now, certainly. It's a nice place and the weather and temperature here is pretty boring, without any real flux, just the way I like it. But it's not my 'dream home' location, and I don't find living here long-term to be a tenable option. I have 1 or 2 places in mind that I'd like to move to one day, but I don't know when either of those will graduate from pipe dream status.
No. This place is a mess, the shower don't work, and the people I live with are tyrants who treat me poorly.
The state - certainly. I chose to move to Colorado when I became an adult after living in several states and doing a good amount of research. Unless it changes drastically here I would like to stay here my whole life. I've started setting roots, and after so many times of uprooting my life, it'll be nice to let these roots really grow and make this place my home. My husband feels a little differently though so we'll see what happens. I'd also like to live in Maine, New Hampshire, or Vermont. As for the house, definitely not. The condo itself is nice, but the HOAs, and the lack of yard and garage, leave a lot to be desired. I want a house with at least some yard space (I want a dog, and I want that dog to have space to run!) and a 2 car garage (or a garage AT ALL).
I'm pretty sure I live in most people's dream home. I have most of the luxuries of town, no water or power bills, no rent and about 100 acres of bush land. And nothing is too far away. Beach, 40 min. Town, 15. River, boi those are everywhere. Large town? 50 min. city? couple hours by car. Bro, I got everything.
I've moved around all my life - curse of the military - so I really would like to put down roots. I live on the campus of my college, which I really like and would love to work at, and the town is small without being a middle-of-nowhere speck on a map. Will it happen? No idea; we'll see what God has in store for me next.
it surprises me to see how so many people wanna leave where they live i love where i live, i wouldn’t leave my country unless absolutely necessary !! :”)
I think I'd rather die than continue to live where I still live. It is abysmally sad and uninteresting and there is so much more to life than it. The UK is alright, though it's gotten pretty shitty so I'm more than happy to move to a different country if necessary. Probably somewhere in Europe though.
This is like the opening statement of a movie about a guy who has it made then he gets hit by a giant bush fire.
The Philippines is definitely not the best country to live in. But I don't think I'll ever want to leave forever. I've stayed in another country for over 4 months, but I just felt so home sick. Nothing makes me more comfortable than being in the place where I grew up.
Well, while I really do love my tiny island that is Puerto Rico, I would like to move out some time. Don't get me wrong, I like it here, but almost everyone here speaks spanish and I always prefered english. (P.S. I can speak spanish just fine) Also, another reason to why I would leave, Is because at least 33% of the population like listening to 'regeton'. I really hate that kind of music and i can't go outside withought listening to that song at least a couple times.
I would leave Germany immediately if I could because: 1) In Germany, there has been no proper government for several months. Instead of taking care of a government, they wanted to dispose the doner kebab. 2)It is too warm. I feel like I am melting away 3) The train is every single day late. So...I would rather live in Finland
I live in NYC too and agree. It's an amazing place that has almost everything you'd need to keep yourself busy. Plays, museums, plenty of shops covering everything under the sun, beautiful parks and gardens, etc. But whether or not you can get the most out of this place and actually enjoy living in it depends highly on whether or not you're rich (six figure USD salary) or don't mind living with 2-4 roommates. Unfortunately, I am neither one of those things, but am lucky since I don't pay rent and can keep saving towards a buying a home in cheaper places or a co-op here, instead of paying the abysmal rent prices they charge in NYC. But yeah, I wouldn't want to stay here in Staten Island. It's uneventful and most of my friends are in other boroughs. I'd be fine living in Queens (Kew Gardens or Forest Hills) or some parts of Brooklyn, or even Manhattan, but only if it's something I could afford to live in alone. I like independency and don't want to share my living space with a roommate, unless I know them very very well. In general though, if I were offered a job somewhere in Canada (especially the French side), I'd jump and leave in a heartbeat. Prices here are so offputting.
