Found any useful tips or tricks for X/Y? Post it here! This post will have a continuously updated masterlist of the more important tips/tricks.
    • Need rain to evolve Sliggoo? Change your DS clock to Sunday, and the time to 11:59 P.M. Wait one minute so the time transitions, then fly to Route 14 and it'll be raining!
    • Capture any Pokémon you can - the more Pokémon you have, the higher your chance of getting a critical capture. A critical capture greatly increases your chance of catching a Pokémon, since the Pokéball only requires one capture check instead of the usual three, and is generated at random.
    • If you want a Sylveon, it is recommended to catch a level 19 Eevee, as it will already have a Fairy move. If you catch one of a higher level, you will have to wait until level 29 to evolve it.
    • Don't save in Lumiose City.
    • Lumiose City rewards you for doing stuff. Doing everything in the city decreases the cost of Mega evolution stones, opens more hair options, as well as opens the boutique to you. It has nothing to do with your outfit. Do everything in the city. Mega Evolution stones bottom out at 10k - this is a good way to check your progress.
    • The bike moves at 14.88 steps per second.
    • Holding left by the Prism Tower will let you spin indefinitely. It's 186 steps per circle. From fresh catch to capped happiness takes just over 34 minutes (34.126). I believe this is the fastest way. You can also use this for XP, hatching eggs, increasing happiness, or just spinning around for the fun of it.
    • Every Pokémon caught in the Friend Safari is guaranteed two 31 IVs, and seems to have a higher rate of 25+ Ivs across the board.
    • You can catch three Pokémon in the Friend Safari per friend.
    • The Daycare husband faces the road when he has an egg so don't waste your time talking to him if he's facing the daycare.
    • The easiest way to max your style is to go buy ~100 balls of your choice from the Pokéball Boutique, one at a time
    • Another good way to earn money/levels for weaker Pokémon is the Battle Chateau on Route 7. All of the trainers there are of rich class so they will give out a lot more prize money than usual trainers.

For Sylveon you don't have to have max happiness with Pokémon Amie, mine evolved at 3 hearts, which took me about 30-45 mins of continuous playing to get there.

Not sure if this is considered much of a tip/trick but save your Master ball for Mewtwo. This is because Xerneas and Zygarde have a much higher catch rate (unknown but I caught Xerneas with the 1st ball, and Zygarde on the 5th ball) whereas Mewtwo has a catch rate of only 3 similar to Victini from Gen 5 which was very hard to catch. This is also a good idea since Mewtwo is lv 70 and quite powerful, you'd be wasting a lot of potions on it if you tried to catch it without a master ball.

I have a tip for hatching eggs:having a Pokémon with flamebody seems to help your eggs hatch faster especially when combined with riding the bicycle

Talonflame should have Flame Body, mine does. The road you ride on along route 7 is quite long and perfect for hatching eggs.

I found out Sylveon only needs 2 hearts to evolve.

There's actually a really fast way to max out friendship in Amie! So once you've petted/fed your Pokémon to the point where it's giving out musical notes instead of hearts, you can play a minigame twice to reset the counter immediately. It doesn't matter how well you do in the minigame, so what I do is just stand there and lose two consecutive rounds of Head-It unlimited mode (which takes about 30 seconds). I've gotten Pokémon from 0 to 5 hearts in about 15 minutes this way!

I don't think this has been mentioned yet (I read through the previous posts xD). Just adding onto the Battle Chateau bit, using the experience or prize money O-Powers (the third being the most useful) will make leveling up a breeze, or give you double the money, especially using the Amulet Coin. I usually try to seek out the trainers with the Audino too, they're easy to spot.

Then of course there's the Hotel Richissme which will give you increased pay after working the given jobs a certain amount of times. Something like 15 times, then 30. Don't quote me on that though.

O-Powers are broken with regard to the restaurants in Lumiose. If you start an O-Power before you begin your battles, it will last through the entire span of consecutive battles regardless of how long it takes you to finish them. It also will be fully recharged by the time you are done. This makes leveling in the restaurants very easy with use of the experience O-Power, which can be used over and over again from full energy every time you go through the battles.

Leveling up your Pokémon in The Battle Chateau works really well with an Exp. Point O-Power. Use one of these O-Powers and then battle a Kimono Girl in the Chateau -- the Kimono Girls have only Audino, who give out more Exp. than other Pokémon. This really helps if you need to quickly level up a Pokémon. The higher the rank of the Kimono Girl, the more Exp. you will get!

I recently just found out that you don't need to trade Villion to get all of its forms, in fact you need to train it in different environmential locations. To get the pink pattern one you need to train it in the forest(ex:the first forest you go into where you first encounter Villion and it's other forms.), to get the polar one(that's the one I have and its legit train by me) you need to train it in the caves(ex:the cave where you go to, to get zygarde, that's how I got mines). The other forms I haven't figured out yet how you can legit get them.

I'm sorry, but that's not true. Wherever I train one, I always get the Yellow Pattern, because I live in the Netherlands. If you received a Scatterbug from a different area, it will evolve into the corresponding pattern Vivillon, no matter where exactly it evolved.

Lol, then I don't know what kind of sorcery I didX3 I had got mines as it's first form, not traded or anything legitimately caught by me and I want to the cave where you catch Zygarde and trained it and it evolve as the polar Villion

To do the Ultimate Flip combination with the skates, build up speed, then when going over the ledge (preferably on Route 22 when you do this), tilt the control stick back then forward. Your character will do said flip. You can only do this when you get all the Skate tricks from the Roller skaters in Illumina City (Lumoise) and then going to the Hotelruine (the Lost Hotel?) and going to the Boss to learn the trick. However, skate very often and practice the backflip. You can also do a spinning flip over the ledges, too.

Not sure if this has been offered yet.

Not too useful but still kind of a funny trick; Go to Glittering Cave and into the second part of the cave where you first met Team Flare. Near the part where you battle against Flare with Serena/Calem, there's a stalagmite over a rock. Break the rock, and your trainer's head will go right through the stalagmite. Funny glitch.

    Breeding Tips
    Hatching
    - With a Flame Body Talonflame and a Level 3 Hatching O-Power, you can hatch most eggs in less than 3 minutes.
    - To hatch eggs with no effort, fly to the Prism Tower in Lumiose City, get on your bike and chip a coin under the analog stick so you can spin indefinitely (similar to tha happiness trick mentioned by Satix).
    - Get yourself a collection of Ditto with all the common natures.
    Hidden Power
    - It's tough but try to catch many Ditto from the Friend Safari until you get ones with a 30 IV in HP, Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, or Speed.
    - To know the exact IVs of a Pokémon, try using an IV calculator like Serebii's.
    - You can use the Battle Institute in Lumiose City to see the stats of your Pokémon at level 50, because using the IV calculator on a level 1 Pokémon will get you nowhere. Make sure to save before entering so you can just soft reset once you looked at the stats.
    - Using a Destiny Knot is fine but during the early stages of breeding, if the Pokémon you are breeding with a Ditto has no good IVs, it might be better to make Ditto hold a Power Item so you can be sure that it passes the 30 IV without having to check with an IV calculator.

If you're trying to hatch as many eggs as you can, you'll want to run back and forth along Route 7, which is the longest route and hosts the day care. However it can be a little longer. If you go all the way up to the cave at the far left of the route, and stand on the tile right in front of the sign, you'll be in the perfect position to increase the length of the route. Just use the D-Pad (not the circle pad) to go right, and you'll pass through Camphrier and the short road to the right of it without hitting anything. Ride your bike back and forth along that line for the most efficient laps. You can also put yourself on this line in the town by standing on the tile just above the fountain, or just below the hedges on either side of it. This will make egg collecting and hatching less repetitive and more efficient.

The GTS Is not really the best place to find Pokémon moves/ abilities that you want due to the fact that many of the people lie about what the Pokémon has and ask for some crazy Pokémon in return! I mean who on Earth would trade a bidoof for an Arceus!
