Yaaay. The year of the Snake is upon us. I just love Lunar New Year. I really wish my family celebrated it more but they're Italian sooooo...

I always celebrate the Lunar New Year by going to the festival they have in the Las Vegas Chinatown. It's next Sunday and they basically take a big shopping centre and close off the parking lot so Vendors can sell a whole bunch of things INCLUDING FOOD. <3 I'll be sure to post pictures here after the event.

Last year I was also asked out on Lunar New Year so it's a pretty special day for me.

    QUESTIONS:

Are you doing anything special this week for the New year? Have you ever done anything special in the past for New Year that you might not being doing this year?

Also, any people born during the year of the Snake? And does anyone have any pet snakes!?

I've never observed the Chinese/Lunar New Year, just the standard calendar one. There really isn't a very large Chinese community in my city, if people observe it and celebrate it's done pretty much in private, no big festival. I was born in the year of the Dragon myself, the one before Snake. Though this Chinese restaurant I really like has the animals and years on their place-mats, along with descriptions, and I always felt like I had more Snake traits than Dragon.
