You and personal space

I like my personal space. People too close to me unless I'm fully aware of them/familiar with them freaks me out, especially if they're behind me. People coming up behind me always freaks me out.

 

If someone came up to me from behind, I'd attack instantly (like fist to face) xD

For me, it depends on how I know them and when they do it. If it's my family and friends and I am not typing, I do not mind. If I am typing, I'll flinch and then back up a little. To strangers, I'd be freaked out and either back away or attack. ^^;

 

I have to have a small personal space because one of my closest friends likes to put her hand on your shoulder when saying something 'important', which is usually just asking a favour of you. I've gotten used to it and personal space invaders never really bothered me that much anyway.

 

I'm big on personal space. If anyone is within one arm's length, I get uncomfortable really quickly. Thankfully, I'm good at telling when people are trying to sneak up on me, so not much catches me by surprise. Unfortunately, my two best friends don't understand my personal space issues and they like to get really close. Really close. I don't think they quite realize how awkward it is.

 

I like my space, unless there's no choice I prefer to keep others at an arm's length. I just get really uncomfortable and kind of claustrophobic otherwise.

 

I hate crowds, so yeah I like my personal space for sure. Friends I don't mind being close, or some family, but overall I'm not the most touchy-feely person ever.

 

It really depends. My little sister can climb on top of me, i don't freak out. But i generally avoid contact in general in most situations. Like at school, I'll squeeze into a tiny, uncomfortable position to avoid touching people, and oftentimes subconsciously rub my skin on my jeans or shirt if touched. It just feels weird and that feeling stays till i "rub it off". My cousins also can practically be on top if me, no issues. Best friend? There has to be at least a centimeter between us. Welcome to the mind that has confused proffesional psychologists.

 

I generally need a great deal of space between me and other people. I especially cannot stand mingling. If someone is too close for comfort, I'll usually just scoot away in a gradual & stealth-like fashion, hoping they're oblivious to it so I don't hurt their feelings, or whatever.

 

Im not usually bothered unless it comes to the point of physical contact, or if someone is literally right behind me.

 

While not claustrophobic, I don't like being in areas crowded with people. I really get uncomfortable even around just one person if they're too close to me, and don't really let adults or peers touch me if I can help it. But I can be very cuddly with people that I like, love, or trust. My room is one big personal space zone, so I start to get jumpy when somebody else comes inside - especially my mom, for a number of reasons.

 

I'm totally fine with being around other people most of the time, but sometimes I just need my personal space. My room is a place that only my twin brother and I can be, for example.

 

It seems I'm one of the least affected by personal space on here! My dislike of crowds is more practical, in that they get in the way when I'm trying to go somwhere. As for people sneaking up behind me, my reaction speed is comparable to that of a slowpoke, so I'm not easily frightened.

 

I'm not really good with personal space, I love crowds and people. I don't really care if people invade my space, more like invade theirs. I just love the human connection, and it's amazing!

 

I am very much a person that hates crowds of people. I love to have my own space, and prefer to be alone most of the time.

 

If it's a friend or family member should be fine, but a stranger...no thanks.

 

I don't mind being around people or people being close to me much, so long as they're not literally in my face. That's just plain uncomfortable >_>;;

I like my personal space, since it makes me uncomfortable to interact with people too close to me. Not a big fan of being wedged in with people. Though I am one of those people who likes leaning on their friends, poking them, etc. Just my friends though.

 

I need my personal space. I will get angry if someone is too close!

 

Personal space is always nice to have, but unless it's my GF, people NEED to let me have my personal space. I feel suffocated otherwise.
