You said WHAT about my favourite character?

I simply insult them back on their favourite stuff

 

I generally don't care if somebody insults my favorite character. To each their own and if that's how they view the character then who am I to judge? I just make sure never to give a reaction back.

You see, an unfortunate fact is that some people insult your favourite character to get a reaction from you. You give it, you instantly lose. I tend to just not give them that satisfaction.

Now obviously if they go off telling lies about my favorite character and stuff, I feel like a great injustice is being done so in those cases I attempt to correct the accusator in their wrong statements. If they don't listen, their loss.

All in all, I'll stand by my usual attitude of to each their own. If they truly hate my favorite character, then so be it. I'm not gonna argue.

 

Once upon a time I was having a scholarly comic book debate with one o' the chaps. It was more than just "who would win in a fight, Rocket Raccoon or Fox McCloud", but actually going into the physics, culture, and internal history of comic books.

So, I dissed Aquaman. So what. He's Aquaman, right? Go tell a dolphin how sad that makes you. The guy I was talking to flipped the eff out. He lectured me for like eight minutes about how Aquaman is the most powerful and best designed comic book character ever. Not only is he talented in direct combat (I'll return to that later), but he also has absolute command over the largest military on earth (the Atlanteans) and has absolute physical control of water even beyond Avatar Waterbending standards. Apparently Aquaman can just say "Hey Superman, you like that water in every cell of your body? It's not there any more, have fun being a dead and dry husk". *cough* Okay...

Whoopdee doo, I reply. If he's such a good fighter, then how come in Young Justice, he's about as effective as a wet noodle against Killerfrost (DC's third or farther most popular ice badguy) and that Aqualad (Aqualad!) kicks 9000x more butt in comparison. If he has command over the entire Atlantean military, why doesn't he focus his energies toward governing them and taking over earth with a strong but firm monarchy? If he can just tell water to abandon his foes and instantly drain the life of any badguy, why doesn't he? If he's so badass, why do half of his costume designers feel the need to force him to update him to be be shirtless, have viking hair, and have a hook for a hand; instead of just letting him naturally be badass like Batman?

So yeah, that's what happened last time last time I dissed someone's favorite character. Last time mine was dissed, I just posed chronologically relevant evidence for why that character is all-around just as cool as I say, with some valid admission of flaw and a little bit of redirection to other characters more in need of dissing.

 

I respect other people opinions so I don't try to make too big of a fuss about it if someone insults my precious favorite characters. Coincidentally not a lot of people seem to hate my favorite characters so that's cool

 

Say something bad about Haruhi Suzumiya. I freaking dare you.

In all seriousness, while I am hurt when people comment poorly on my favourite characters, I rarely get riled up about it. I mean, those that do absolutely adore Donald Trump so meh.

 

It's not something that I get upset over
I just get all priestly and try to convert them
Sometimes I'll get into discussions about characters, but that's it.

 

I feel like punching them I'll admit. What I do depends on what they said. If it is factually wrong, i explain that. If it is opinion, I say that they can have their opinions.

 

Sure, I have favorite characters that I absolutely adore. But not everyone's going to have the same opinion as me, and I respect that. It's not something that gets me worked up unless it's a deliberate personal attack, but even that's rare. Besides, they're just characters. It's not like they're hurt by someone's insults either.

 

I'd probably laugh back at them tbh. It's no skin off my nose.

 

Say something bad about Shizuma Hanazono. I dare you, I double dare you.

Eh, I just shrug it off and move on. Everyone has their opinions.

 

Sometimes I might yell at my computer a bit, but I won't ever reply or insult them.
Usually I just say whatevs and ignore their opinion. Yes I'm am VERY attached to my characters but if someone doesn't like them, then that's their fault.
