Your Day-to-Day Programs?

- Firefox, for web browsing.
- Skype, for IM'ing.
& - Visual Studio versions 2012 and 2013, for coding projects.
& - G.I.M.P. & Photoshop, for graphics.
- Vegas Pro 12, for video editing.
- VLC, for watching videos.

I use a lot of other tech-geared programs like Packet Tracer, Wireshark, Rational Rose to name a few but not on a day-to-day basis.

 

Just Skype, which I have opened at all times, and Firefox. My Firefox always has at least 8 standard tabs open, so I can basically do anything I want from there xD

 

Mine are fairly generic. 8]

~ Chrome for browsing. It's my go-to browser and I can't use anything else.
~ Skype for IMing online friends.
~ Trillian for chatting with my real life friends and the boyfriend.
~ Flux for automatically adjusting my screen brightness depending on the time of day. I have this on all the time and cannot go without it: going back to the original colors/brightness of a computer screen destroys me. It's terrible. This program is so good for your eyes.
~ Photoshop CS6 for graphics and artwork.
~ VLC for videos, iTunes for music.
~ Pages for writing stories.

That's.. basically it, methinks. There are also other programs I mess with from time to time but not as often as the above (though it's likely I've missed something).

Snipping Tool- Just basic screencapping
Google Sketchup- just for fun. It's great if you like designing buildings.

That's about it I think!

 

~Chrome. The superior browser choice in my opinion. Perfect, fast, sleek and useful.
~Photoshop CS6. Need this for various graphics, including some around LV.
~Skype. I use this to talk to my friends (90% of the LV staff members and various other folks too) members every single day.
~Filezilla. Need this to update the forums and main site with new stuff.
~Photobooth. Useful, funny and just a good timewaster.
~Thunderbird. All of my LV emails are through here.

That's it.

 

I use these programs every day I'm on the computer:
*Firefox - my web browser of choice even though I really should switch to something else.
*Windows Media Player - listening to music and watch some videos.
*VLC - watch flash videos and other file types that WMP can't play.
*Thunderbird - I'm one of those people who still prefer standalone email software over webmail. I have it set up for my GMail account, and I also have the Lightning plugin so that I have a calendar and task list.
*Windows Task Manager - because I like to see how my system resources are being used and I have it up in case I want to close a non-responsive program.
*Windows Explorer - I have a bunch of folder windows open most of the time, particularly my pictures and videos.

Other programs that I use frequently:
*LibreOffice - so I can do basic office documents (such as word processing and spreadsheets.)
*VirtualBox - I like to run older and different operating systems just for the fun of it.
*TightVNC - so I can remotely control other machines on my LAN as if I were sitting at its desk.

 

Chrome/Firefox: for Internet browsing; I only have one browser up, and the one that's up depends on whether my computer is plugged in or not (since Chrome drains battery life more quickly)

Word: for school-related stuff

ImageReady CS2: for graphics

Skype: for chatting with friends

TextEdit: also for school-related stuff; I use it for other purposes as well
