So, anyone here remember what their first anime was? If you do, what was it? It did take me a while, and while I didn't really know what anime was until Pokémon, my first was Samurai Pizza Cats.
Besides the common answer of Pokémon, I was also introduced to Inuyasha, Naruto, and Detective Conan at a young age. I'm sure that there's other anime from that point in my life, but those 4 stick out the most.
I think my very first ones were Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, Mahoromatic or Ninja Nonsense. Ah, the nostalgia ;w;
Dragon Ball or Sailor moon. It might be another, but I would have been too little to remember. If anything, my mother would watch and I would be in the room.
Superbook. I was... 3 or 4 when I first saw it, but the style really drew me in, and now anime is my favorite general style (though as a result I actually like the aesthetics from that era more than a lot of what's available nowadays. Plus the plots were a lot better. XD
Sailor Moon. I used to get up at around 5am just so I could watch cartoon female Power Rangers, as I thought of it back then. xD
My first anime would have been Pokémon, but other anime I watched as a child were Digimon and Robotech. In fact, I think those were the only anime I watched as a kid, and I would have only seen Pokémon and Digimon on TV. My dad had the complete series of Robotech on DVD, which is where I watched that one (he got the series on Blu-ray just a few years ago, so that DVD collection is now mine).
I cant remember what came first, probably Pokémon but about that time I also found Sailor Moon, Yugioh, Medabots and Card Captor Sakura so I cant say for sure!
If I count the ones I watched as a kid like Pokémon, yugioh and bakugan... Then it was probably Pokémon. If I don't count those, the first one I went out of my way to watch because it wasn't on tv, was Attack on Titan.

Like half the answers here, I watched Pokémon at first. I still remember watching the Johto series (it was the one that the channel I watched it from always had running) before heading off to some dance class when I was a small lil prep. I still watch the Pokeani quite frequently... Besides that, I almost watched through the entire first season of Pretty Cure a few years later when I started to understand what anime was. I still need to finish it after four years of not watching, haha.
It was Pokémon, and that's basically the only anime I've ever watched, haha. We didn't have cable and I hadn't discovered the magic of Netflix, so it was always a treat to wake up early when we were visiting my uncle and race downstairs to catch Pokémon on a Saturday morning.
I watched Pokémon as a kid but nothing else really. I only got interested in the anime medium when I was a teenager. The series that got me into the anime medium was actually code geass.
I was introduced to Naruto and Tokyo Mew Mew around the same time by my first friends in secondary school. I was mostly just watching so I had something to talk about with them but I ended up getting super into them and... Here I am now. Slave to sports anime. :|
