Ahh, the glorious moment when you received your first console/handheld. A moment almost all of us will eternally remember.
What was your first console and/or handheld you received?

My very first console was the PlayStation 1. I don't exactly remember what my first game for it was, but I remember absolutely loving it. My grandma bought it for me. ^_^ It was around that time that my massive love for Megaman started to develop.
My first handheld was a Gameboy Color, and my first game for it was The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons. I could never finish it though, toooooo complicated for my tiny mind, but I also did have a lot of fun playing it, and the various other GBC games I received in the following months.

The first device that I ever held was the GameBoy Color and the game it held was Pokémon Red. For the console, I held the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and the game that I was playing in it was Super Mario. *sighs* So much memories. <3

The first ever console my family had was a nintendo 64.

I was 14 when I finally got my first handheld gaming system, it was a used DS lite, when I upgraded, i gave that to my little sister.

Same here! High-Five for us... uhh... old people.

Well, those two (and every home console since) was shared among us kids, but the first handheld I owned personally was the Gameboy Pocket, the red one. I still remember the commercial for it! A bunch of cool (in the 90s) looking teen guys standing on a conveyor belt as a dispenser above them dropped the GBP straight into the back pocket, as if applying the final touch of manufacturing the next cool 90s kid: me. In hindsight, however, it probably looks more like "Nintendo wants you to be a thoughtless product-buying zombie on a conveyor belt. Buy our stuff!"

Still Gameboy Pocket was such an improvement over the brick.

The first console I had was a SNES my cousins bought my brothers and I when we were little. I played games like Super Mario Kart, Donkey Kong Country, and Super Mario World. I have so many memories of waiting for my two brothers to finish playing together (since there are only 2 controller ports) so that I could play it. Sometimes before I would go to bed I would play Donkey Kong Country and just listen to the music to relax and wind down. Eventually though, I got a semi clear Gameboy Color as my first handheld and lost a bit of interest in the SNES as I had Pokémon Silver and Sabrina the Teenage Witch to keep me entertained lol. Nowadays I don't play video games as often but I still have both the SNES and the Gameboy color! Playing on them is probably a long shot though as I gave my gameboy color to my younger sister and the SNES is somewhere in the attic and its too much of a hassle to get and set up without causing a commotion. o -o

First console was a playstation 2 that my parents got for my brother on his birthday. It was a great system, we had it at a time that we could get lots of the classics for a good price.

My first handheld was I believe before the ps2, it was a gameboy. Before the color. We had super mario world, tetris, pacman... then my cousin gave me Pokémon blue. I trained a blastoise and flareon to level 100 on that game, I put so much time into it.

My first handheld was a Game Boy Advance. I had one of those semi-transparent ones, and my brother had a solid purple one. Good times, those were.

My first console was a PlayStation 2. At the time, my neighborhood didn't have cable internet, so my brother and I couldn't play online multiplayer games. Still, we were happy with what we had.

My first console was a SEGA Genesis that my dad had. I played it a lot as a kid but I was so bad at all the games I never got past any of the first levels.

My first handheld was a GBA and I played that 10x more than the Genesis. So many hours put into Pokémon Sapphire and Kirby & The Amazing Mirror...

My first console, believe it or not, was a NES, but with appearance quite similar to one of the Sega Genesis models (I think it must be one of the bootleg NES consoles out there), I think I played a lot of Tetris back then.

My first handheld was a newest model of Gameboy Advance SP with extra backlight in it, I do remember that I played many Power Rangers games and Pokémon Emerald in it.

My first console was a PlayStation 2, which was my dad's, my first console being a Limited Edition Mario Red Wii
My first handheld was the original Nintendo DS which my dad smashed, then a second Nintendo DS for which the reason's pretty clear, then a DS Lite which was also Limited Edition Mario Red, then a 3DSXL and now a 3DS.
    I've had a lot of DS's...

My very first handheld was the gameboy advanced sp. I got it on my sixth birthday. I thought it was a coin purse at first because it came in a case, but I was ecstatic to find out it's true nature.

My first console ever was the Nintendo Wii. We got that when I was eleven years old and my brother and I loved it (nowadays, I'm the only one who still uses it).

My first handheld? That would be the Gameboy Advance SP. We had a "128 games in 1"-game. We played that over and over again. Too bad you couldn't save. We also had a Dora game and a Penguins of Madagascar game... I was so proud of myself when I finished Dora, but up 'til now, I've never been able to finish Penguins of Madagascar... I think I should give it another go one of these days.

My mom got me GBA Micro for my 8th birthday :3 before then, I was always playing cheap throwaway portable games which I didn't even understand how they worked. One of them was a Tetris clone, so if that counts as a console it'd have to be that.

My first handheld was a GBC and my first game was Pokémon Gold. Goodness, I was obssessed with it! I cried for days when it broke.

My first console was a Playstation (one) and that's really all I've ever owned. Once it broke, I had fallen too far in love with PCs to buy another one.
