Your first shiny Pokemon

My first was not a Shiny Gyrados, rather I killed it.
I randomly got a shiny Treecko by accident while breeding in Gen 4. It was really cool~

 

First was Gyarados. Everyone has a chance at Gyarados -.-
Okay that^ doesn't count.

My first legit encounter was a shiny Zigzagoon in Emerald. Too bad it was the first Pokémon I encountered after starting the game and you weren't allowed to buy Pokeballs yet.

First catch was actually a Venipede in the ROM hack Light Platinum, but since they made the shiny sprite the same with the normal, it didn't mean so much.

First LEGIT catch was a Shiny Magikarp I chain fished for in X/Y and raised with loving care to LVL 100 and used to beat the E4

 

Minus the free Gyarados, my first was a Ponyta in SS, on Mt. Silver. I did a literal double take haha. It was awesome though, I was afraid I was going to kill it, but managed to catch it. I still have it, transferred over to my X. 83

 

My first shiny Pokémon (that wasn't the Gyarados) was a female Zigzagoon in Emerald that became my second in command. I really adored her and she was nicknamed Riku! However once I beat the E4 the game corrupted... I couldn't pick up my GBA for days because I was so heartbroken over it.

 

In all my years of playing Pokémon (since RBY) my first shiny (excluding Gyarados) wasn't until HG. A shiny Stantler!

 

Apart from the shinies that are give to you/found in the wild always shiny, my first shiny was a Zubat I found in Oreburgh Mine during a specific playthrough of Pokémon Pearl, a mono-type run. My type of choice was Steel, so I couldn't add it to my team, but I caught it anyway. Then I traded it to my HeartGold and used it in a playthrough on that, until I forgot it was there and deleted the save data. But she still lives on, sitting in a Pokémon Battle Revolution save file on my old Wii.
Apart from that, I've chain-fished for a Clauncher in XY and a Feebas in ORAS, and just recently I hatched a 6IV Shiny Cottone (by accident) for my stash of battle-ready Pokémon.
Apart from that, all my other shinies I won in giveaways or received on Wonder Trade.

 

My first shiny was back in original Ruby! It was a shiny Claydol in sky pillar! I got very luck that I managed to catch it, since it had Selfdestruct!

 

Besides the Gyarados, my first shiny was a Weedle in Crystal.

 

Other than the shiny Gyarados I encountered in Silver, I encountered a shiny Rufflet. I did not have any pokeballs with me at the time. So I was screwed

 

I hatched a male shiny combee. It was shiny! But it was male and male combee are pretty much useless. I don't think I traded it... yet.

 

If I remember right my first real shiny excluding the Red Gyarados was a shiny Smoochum that hatched out of my Mystery Egg in Crystal.. but that had a 15% chance to be shiny in international versions of the game so it was already quite high. Can't recall what I did to it but I wasn't that excited since I didn't understand the concept of shinies yet. ;.; The first random encounter shiny I got with regular rates was a shiny Whismur in Sapphire, which I unfortunately no longer have. Wish I didn't restart over that file, guh.

 

My first ever Shiny was a Houndour I encountered was one fine morning, while I was trying to squeeze in a few minutes of Platinum before the day started, since I got up early. T'was on Route 214, I remember it like it was yesterday. I had just managed to reduce it to low health after picking up my jaw from the ground, but before I could chuck a Pokéball at him, he used Roar... Needless to say, I was a bundle of joy for the rest of the day. *COUGHSARCASMCOUGH*

 

I like how we're not including the Johto Gyarados for this discussion. I agree that it doesn't quite count.

My first one was... believe it or not... Rayquaza on Sapphire. Like back in the day Sapphire. I didn't even notice it until after I caught and saved, and my jaw dropped. I was so freaking excited over it I can't even quantify it.

Actually, that Rayquaza is still on my Sapphire, and will be until I get Black2 and Pokémon Bank.

Since then I've only got an Electrike (maybe evolved, but I don't remember), and a hacked perfect Ferrothorn someone gave out on Wonder Trade.

 

My first legit shiny Pokémon was a Lunatone in Black. It's gone now since I restarted Black many years ago.

 

My first shiny was a Caterpie that I found outside of Mt. Moon on my way to Cerulean City. I wasn't planning on using a Butterfree on my team during that run, but after I captured that Caterpie, I decided to keep it on my team and train it.

 

Mine would be a shiny ralts I encountered back in emerald

My first shiny was a Meowth that I found on Route 38 in Silver. At first, I thought it was a glitch but I caught it anyway. My next shiny was the Gyarados, but I'm glad my first was, if anything, unique.

 

It was a shiny Gyarados. Found it in Lake Rage. Get this, though. I killed the one you were supposed to encounter for the story line. So, later on I was poking around Lake Rage and I ran out of repels, go figure. So I kept running into stupid Magikarp and whatnot, until I found a Shiny Gyarados. Being the idiot I am, I thought, "What the hell? Didn't I already kill him?" So I did. I killed him and realized afterwards, that was legit. Then I smacked myself.

 

My first was a Shiny Zubat in Pokémon SoulSilver. I forgot where I found it, but I had a particularly lucky feeling upon going into that cave and, what do you know, I got a Shiny Zubat.
