What is your ideal six party team of Pokémon? I'm not sure if many people consider this question, but it can be whatever you like, regardless of how much or little sense it makes. As for me, it's just my six favorite Pokémon: My starter and favorite Pokémon. Physical attacker with Flare Blitz, Protect, Hone Claws and High Jump Kick. Special attacker. Choice Scarf with Trick, Psyshock, Moonblast and Focus Blast. Lazy sleepy cat that serves as support. Scald, Wish, Protect, Heal Bell. Headstrong, reckless leader and user of the team's Z-Crystal. Dragon Dance, Dragon Claw, Fly (Supersonic Strike), Earthquake. Support and second half of the defensive core with Vaporeon. Stealth Rock, Seismic Toss, Softboiled, Thunder Wave. Newest member of the team, often used as the lead Pokémon due to his versatility with Protean. Hydro Pump, Ice Beam, Dark Pulse, U-Turn. Let me know what your ideal team would be!
For me I have an ideal team for gameplay that usually revolves around the starter's type weaknesses and builds around it and the required HMs (this is what makes gen 7 games hard to get used to because no HMs which means more free rein). As an example, I'll use my team for my latest Black/White playthrough where I picked Tepig. Since this is BW, no non-Unova Pokémon are on this team. Emboar has Water and Rock/Ground weaknesses, Leavanny takes care of that but is weak to Flying and Fire, so I would add a Zebstrika and Seismitoad. Unfezant takes care of Fly HM, which leaves one extra space for Krookodile -- my go-to for any Rock/Ground/etc moves and the Strength HM. So, to recap: Emboar, Leavanny, Zebstrika, Seismitoad, Unfezant, and Krookodile -- wherein later on, Seismitoad is replaced with Jellicent (Seismitoad cannot learn Waterfall, a shame) which is a big help with Shauntal in the Elite Four. And you might be wondering -- where are the Psychic types? Psychic moves? My answer: Zebstrika could potentially be replaced with a Musharna or a Gothitelle in the late game, but again, that would be a late-game change. I would also prefer a Musharna as well, anything that can retain the ability to learn Charge Beam.
I kind of came up with this on the fly after reading this. I tried to make a good mix between my favorite Pokémon and something actually competent. These two are my two favorite Pokémon. Well, technically it's Litwick instead of Chandelure but it wouldn't be a badass team with a tiny candle boi. They're both great special attackers with good type combos. Gardevoir is shiny because I love it and is a girl. A recent edition to my fav list, Dragonite is very versatile and has that sweet sweet Dragon type so it can help with a lot type coverage. And it's a big softie but still awesome. A good attacker and a lot of resistances to help with type coverage, and it looks cool. Meganium doesn't get enough love. A stealth, bat-scorpion thing that just oozes coolness. Plus it's super versatile and Ground-types are great.
This is a hard question for me, usually when I play I just use what I haven't used much already or roll with my instincts. Narrowing down a team of six, without that restriction? Hard. I suppose a team of all Linoone would be fun. Not very competitive, but then I'm not a very competitive person, ha
6 Zubat! Hmm... if it were a team of my favorite Pokémon, it would be: Xurkitree, with Waterium Z: Rain Dance (Z-Rain Dance, to boost speed by 1), Thunder, Water Pulse, Dazzling Gleam Absol, with Absolite: Swords Dance, Night Slash, Play Rough, Superpower Tsareena, with Life Orb: High Jump Kick, Play Rough, Synthesis, Trop Kick Ampharos, with Ampharosite: Thunderbolt, Dragon Pulse, Power Gem, Confuse Ray Volcarona, with Life Orb: Quiver Dance, Fiery Dance, Bug Buzz, Giga Drain Empoleon, with Leftovers: Scald, Toxic, Protect, Stealth Rock Or... Empoleon, with Weakness Policy: Agility, Liquidation, Knock Off, Power Trip (I’m not sure which set I would pick. While the first one is probably more viable, the second one seems more fun to use) And both Absol and Ampharos can mega evolve, because I said so.
Since Cosmog can’t do anything in battle, I didn’t include it in this team. Braviary Brave Bird Return Roost U-Turn Glaceon Ice Beam Swagger Hail Wish Meowstic Male Thunderbolt Thunderwave Psychic Light Screen Scrafty High Jump Kick Crunch Toxic Dragon Dance Clefable Moonblast Protect Wish Toxic Dhelmise Shadow Claw Power Whip Anchor Shot Earthquake
I haven't considered how competent this team would be in battling, but a few months about me and my siblings chose each other's Pokémon teams, and I'm quite happy with the team they chose for me. My team would probably be Quilava, Sneasle, Luxray, Houndoom, Croagunk, and Larvitar. Those are the Pokémon that my siblings associate with me, and they're some of my favorites.
Probably Mega Sceptile, Aegislash, Krookodile, Gyrados, Escavlier, and Toxicroak. I have no idea if any of this is actually viable, but I fail to see why viability should be a concern when I have a dragon, a living sword, and a buggy knight.
