Imagine you are turning 10 and you can choose your trusty starter Pokémon. Everything is perfect until now, right? No of course not. At the moment we choose our starter we mostly meet our nice and great rivals. From Blue Oak to Tali, they guided us through the Pokémon game. But how would your own rival be? What name does he / she have, is he / she rich or poor, how is his / her personality. Does he / she play a big role in the story or is he / she just a funny side character? Will he / she later be the Champion ?
My Rival will be a girl! (Not many female rivals...need some diversity) her name is Celes, she chose Chikorita before i went for Cyndaquil. She has a major impact after saving me in our 4th encounter, as i try to fight back a horde of Pokémon that came from a route with stronger Pokémon, she's not poor nor is she rich. Lastly, while I chose to travel to different regions, she went off to clear up Orre and make it a region where previous champions and veterans go to relax while still train.
Mine would be someone who woult turn from an enemy to a friend, someone who would challenge me. After our battles, we would just hang out for a bit and have fun before parting ways. Would he/she beat me to the league? Oh yes, but that would just set up for the perfect battle to once and for all see which of the two of us is the best! And every once in a while, my rival would come around for another battle, but win or lose we would be closer than family. We might be rivals, but we will always have each other's backs.
I feel like I would be the rival, actually, because I know the basics and I'm passable skill-wise, but that's about it. I'd probably be good enough to get through a league, but not good enough to hold onto the championship in the face of all of my friends who are so much better at Pokémon than me. So essentially I guess my rival would be a silent PC?
Me and my rival would probably compete about whose Pokémon looks the healthiest/more beautiful/cuter etc. Because I am more of the breeder/caretaker type.
