This topic is kind of like the topic I created about websites, but with video games! I looked around and didn't see a topic for this, so again, I'm sorry if this topic already exists.

Let's get down to it, then. What would the game of your dreams be like? You don't need to worry about knowing how to make games. We are going to assume that you have a full team of creators and programmers to help you create whatever you like. So you can have whatever music, graphics, gameplay, etc. that you would like!

Alrighty, so I get to create my own game first! I'm a huge fan of RPG's, so I'd probably want to create the RPG I've been forming in my head for years. It has a turn-based battle system that relies on personal momentum and connection to your teammates. Momentum is built by doing individual attacks, and connection is built by doing team attacks. The overworld would be 3d, but with a soundtrack created by me, played by an actual professional orchestra. The OST would be a mix of classical, jazz, and whatever else I wanted. I've created many tracks for the game, but I doubt I'm ever going to make it, but that's okay. I can dream, can't I?

I would create an RPG on the caliber of early Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest, with elements of Zelda. One of the characters would be a strong minstrel character that is anything but a spoony bard, that would cast his/her spells via music, a la Symphogear/Ar tonelico.

It would be set in a traditional fantasy universe, and in a sense be a subversion of a fairytale by having the princess rescue the prince

I'm actually learning python to make my own game right now lol. My idea is sort of a 2-D action scroller. All of the "weapons" are based on art items like paintbrushes, scissors, etc. Its really only a concept right now since i'm still learning how to code, though.

I've been using the program RPG Maker VX Ace in order to create a game, but with a team of professionals it would be much easier. Anyway, I'm still developing the story... which is why I haven't done more, but I have a drop and crafting system where you can only buy basic weapons, but using recipes you find through the world as well as "bounties" or Drops from the enemies (they don't drop gold, but always some part that can be sold) you can craft awesome weapons with an unleash power (Like Golden Sun) as well as crazy cool armor.
As for the story, right now it's a dungeon crawling game where defeating bosses "rebuilds" the world, opening up new areas. Some areas are optional, and in my dream, possible silly, like the Jurrasic Jungle (full of dinos and stuff) or the Twilit Realm (Crazy sci fi and other sorts of thriller ish stuff) Anyway it's still pretty rudimentary, and I am working on the story, so the rest of the game is stuck

In my game you have to navigate the world as a socially inept borderline, basically my life but in game form, good luck!
But really, I'd like to make a game that recognizes things like mental illness and has a variety of different options and traits for the characters to help create more visibility and advocacy. :>

My idea seems to be different from many of the above RPG ideas. I would like to see a FPS-like (but not necessarily shooting, maybe something Fallout 3-4 like with melee options) adventuring. A world to explore, people to help, quests to do, all that. The closest thing I can compare my idea to is Fallout 3-4, but still quite different, so let me compare some points:

    - A definite but freeform central quest web. Not a quest line, like do this then this then this, but "Here are a bunch of important things to do, each of which have their own difficulties and bonuses and methods of completion, and they all relate directly to the main problem at hand." Like Mega Man, maybe, with sidequests. You can choose which Mavericks you want to fight now or later, and you're rewarded per choice.
    - Little to no killing of humans or sentient animals. Robots, manifest-energy monsters, plants, I don't know. I just want to have high action without killing people. To quote-paraphrase Claptrap from Borderlands 2 "Why did you just kill those guys! They were real people with live and families and educations and... nah, screw those guys, nobody cares about them, we can kill them without feeling bad!" I don't want to do that.
    - Metal-based music. Metal isn't all growly and angry. It can also be ambient and calm and exciting and dramatic and sorrowful, but I would want drums and distorted electric guitar in most of the soundtrack, even if it's mixed with orchestral or synth to match a medieval or scifi setting.
    - Photorealistic graphics. Go play Oblivion. People's faces look like they're made of silly putty, colors are wildly saturated (glass armor makes you look like a lime-green knight), it's all pretty silly. Now go play Skyrim. People look like people, metal looks like metal, trees look like trees. It's great, and I love it. Just compare these two pictures and the artistic choices in each.
    - Character creation and growth. Sure, it's my game, but you can play it how you like. Be sneaky, be straightforward, be clever, be non-violent. You're the player, play it how you like. On that note, being able to change between characters (like Evolve?) would be a nice feature, but maybe not able to be implemented.
    - A focus on learning from experience. Every success and even some failures help you to learn and grow and adapt. Maybe rewarding failure is a bad idea, or maybe it perfects the difficulty curve. But certainly, especially when large tasks are accomplished, I want the player to gain access to a new talent or ability. And that would be the theme: learn from your experiences and improve with them.

As for setting... I don't know. Medieval like Skyrim, present-day like Far Cry, future like Fallout. I don't know, I think the above categories can fit in with most settings

I would create a game in which you live in space. You tour different planets and checks peace on them. You have a full team with different powers and abilities. You have to cooperate with them and have to investigate. Since the player we play is a human it needs oxygen. There is a definite amount of oxygen is given and you have to refill at regular intervals of time, if you Dont then you will die. Its all my imagination. It would be nice to have a game like that.

I'm totally on board with this plan man

While I'm not a fan of rhythm games, I do enjoy the idea of a game that plays and matches the theme of a music. I want to see a game that's fluid almost in it's play style. Not too big on story, but really good in regards to game play. I'd love to see a almost music visualizer. The landscape, pace, and strategy all changes with the song being played. And what would be even better is having the ability to use your own music too.

I would make a game that was a standard RPG along the lines of the classic Final Fantasy games but would be on next gen consoles with amazing graphics. It would be about my, my friends, and all the other people in my life but it'd would be in this huge fantasy/science-fiction crazy world.
