At some point in your life, you've probably been recommended an anime or have been asked for recommendations, right?
It's a common thing among friends who watch anime, and it can lead to great things.

If you were asked to create a list of 5 anime you'd highly recommend, what would that list look like? Try to put that list in order if possible!
As for me, that list would consist of the following 5 (not in order cuz pls don't make me do that):
    • Anohana
    • Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou (Daily Lives of Highschool Boys)
    • Rokka no Yuusha (Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers)
    • Kokoro Connect
    • Angel Beats!

Now, this list doesn't mean these anime are my favorites at all, because most of them aren't (still love them tho).
This list is more based around anime I feel like almost anyone could thoroughly enjoy, each for their own reasons.
Of course, the recommendations always depend on the person who's asking, but this list has a few different genres that could be enjoyed by anime (comedy, slice of life, action, mystery, etc.)

Definitely not using this thread to find some more good anime, nope.

    Your Lie in April
    K
    Hunter X Hunter
    One Punch Man
    Assassination Classroom

Not in order, but first things that come to mind
Also: "Pokémon: Hard Mode" is a good webcomic, the original Nuzlocke creator
    and "Twokinds"
    and "Mare Internum"
    and "Mystic Revolution"
    and "The Lounge"

    That's two lists XD

I'm actually watching Your Lie in April right now! :D I've never watched a music anime before, so this is something new for me, but the story (mainly Kousei's back-story) is really interesting and the OSTs are just gorgeous, not to mention the comedy bits it has. I believe I'm currently on episode 11.

I'm, of course, also a huge fan of K and One Punch Man, they're 2 of the anime I look forward to the most during the weekends. :P

    SO MANY FEEEELS

Also, I forgot: No Game No Life. It's been so long, I want a second season, it's amazing, and it makes my stats teacher happy. What else could be better?

Picking just 5 is hard for me... Well, I'm going to do it anyways.

    • Zetsuen no Tempest
    • Log Horizon
    • Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko.
    • C: The Money of Soul and Possibility Control
    • Seitokai Yakuindomo
Out of these, Seitokai Yakuindomo is the only one I can't recommend to everyone though, due to it's content.

It depends on who I'm recommending to, but I think these 5 will generally be liked by most people, no matter their taste:
    • Ansatsu Kyoushitsu (Action/Comedy)
    • Shokugeki no Souma (Action/Comedy)
    • Ao no Exorcist (Action/Adventure)
    • Nisekoi (Romance/Comedy)
    • Yamada-kun to 7-nin no Majo (Romance/Comedy)
Out of these, Shokugeki no Souma is my favorite, followed by Ansatsu Kyoushitsu, the rest are all solid series, but they're not my all time favorites.
It's pretty much impossible for anime to appeal every kind of viewer, so don't mind if I make a few more top 5 lists >_>

    Comedy:
    • Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai
    • Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou
    • Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!
    • Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun
    • Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo
These are all llight romantic comedies. Out of these, I'd recommend Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo the most. Nichijou is pretty funny too, but I've not finished it.

    Action:
    • Kill la Kill
    • No Game No Life
    • Mirai Nikki
    • Sword Art Online
    • Gatchaman Crowds
I almost never watch action anime anymore, they're absolutely not my genre and these basically the only ones I've watched besides SnK. Out of these, I recommend Kill la Kill the most, it's among my all time favorites.
SAO is in there because I don't actually mind the series too much, even though almost everyone hates it. Sure, there's some wasted potential, but the action scenes, the animation and the music are all amazing. The second season is way better than the first one too, in my opinion.

    Romance:
    • Clannad
    • Shuffle!
    • To Love-Ru (anything past the first season)
    • Kanon (2006)
    • Toradora!
Now, To Love-Ru and Shuffle! are debatable, as they're both heavily ecchi harems. To Love-Ru is actually the best ecchi harem, in my opinion. It has a great and diverse range of girls, plenty of development for most of them too. The To Love-Ru Darkness series has some pretty good drama too and overall most characters in the series are lovable. Skip the first season though, it's way worse compared to the rest of the series.
Shuffle! starts of extremely standard and generic, but in the second half of the show things go crazy and it turns into a quite intense final few episodes. The rest should be self explanatory. I'm not a big fan of Toradora!, but Ryuu is too cute <3

    Drama/Horror/Generally darker themes:
    • NHK ni Youkoso!
    • Zankyou no Terror
    • Another
    • Death Parade
    • Charlotte
NHK ni Youkoso! is my strongest recommendation on this list, but it's definitely not for everyone. If you're curious about it, please give it try though. It's probably the best series I've ever watched. The rest has varying levels of gore, drama, death and violence. Besides NHK ni Youkoso!, my favorite out of these is Charlotte. I would put Gakkou Gurashi in here too, but I'm only a few episodes in.

And for good measure, here's my list of my top 5 all time favorite series:
    1. Haikyuu!!
    2. Kill la Kill
    3. To Love-Ru
    4. Shokugeki no Souma
    5. NHK ni Youkoso!
With honorable mentions for Charlotte and Ansatsu Kyoushitsu :3
