Hello, all! I am Divine (well my name at least) and I love Pokémon, huge fan. Loved Pokémon since 3rd Grade and still love it to this day. My favorite gen is gen 5 and my favourite Pokémon is Haxorus (Litten too) I actually got into Pokémon because of an Ad I saw when I was a kid with Pikachu as the main star. Once I saw that I bought Pokémon cards and collectibles since I didn't have a GBA or a DS at the time and I spent every penny on Pokémon Merchandise and now I've been able to play the games and enjoy them all. Nice to meet you all and I hope we can be friends.
Welcome to Lake Valor I'm sure we can be friends, we're a friendly bunch here. It's pretty funny that an ad had such an impact on you xD Anyway I hope you have a great time!
Without that Ad, I probably would have never gotten into Pokémon and play the game, I would just know the name "Pokémon" but never play it.
Hey Divine, welcome in! It's fantastic to have you here. I definitely recommend you scoot on over to our Pokémon areas and check out some of the topics there! I'm sure you'd have a lot of fun.
Welcome, Welcome Divine! I am so glad you joined Do you still collect the cards? Also if you wanna get to know people then try joining the Discord, it may help you become more comfortable with the community!
Welcome to the forum c: lucky you found that ad! I also used to collect the cards, but nowadays there are just too many of them to keep up with @ _@ haha
Thanks, every once in a while I purchase a booster or 2. I mostly do it for the amazing artwork as I do with all card games. Yea that ad introduced me to an amazing franchise. And yeah there are a ton of Pokémon cards out there, they get pretty tough to find and even if you find them they're really expensive.
Yeah, I ended up finding that AC cards were more fun to collect, even though they are twice as expensive again, if not more so, just because they have finite number. I think that's the part of collecting I like, the feeling of being a certain way from finished or complete, but if something is just rapidly expanding without every stopping, it's hard to get a sense of satisfaction about it because you're not likely to ever get close to "complete".
I'm not a completionist by any means, I just collect the cards for fun and for the artwork as some cards are visually stunning. Some card games are unquestionably expensive, boosters can go to about 100$ or more and they can be some are not even rare so the price doesn't even make sense.
