I'm actually curious to see when people plan to buy the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo's new console that will be coming out on March 3 of this year. Will you be buying it or not? When do you plan to do so? Why would you not buy it? Leave a response in the poll if you'd like and state your reason(s) for your choice in a post below if you feel like elaborating on your answer.
The only game that interest me at the moment is Loz Breath of the Wild and I can play that on my Wii U as well, when the now games like Xenoblade and FE Warriors drop I am going to buy a Switch.
No earlier than Winter 2017. The Switch interests me and I like what I see better than I liked what I saw with Wii U but I never buy a console at launch ( Spoiler https://a.pomf.cat/rczndb.webm By then there will be some kind of standard set by the Switch, and it will be on the cusp of new titles being announced and released. This idea of winter is the absolute earliest as well, I'm not in the best financial shape at the moment and it's hard to save money, and I don't need it as much as other things. But I'll be keeping and eye on it and it would be realistic to think of getting one closer to a year after it's released if not longer and things have picked up with the console. I got my eye on you Switch, plz don't mess with Pokémon too much k?
I'm actually planning to wait 4 weeks or more until I have enough money for the switch itself and pre-ordering some games for the system
I would like the switch but I don't plan to buy it at the time it releases. I may ask for it for easter, my june high school graduation, or my august birthday, but I don't see my self purchasing it. I like the idea of the system and would like to own the switch.
My birthday is just a couple days after the Switch comes out so I asked for it for my birthday! My mom said she managed to get a preorder so I'm pretty excited.
imo, the lineup of launch games are pretty... okay. It's missing one more big IP to grab attention. Maybe that new Metroid everyone pleads for. I donno. Otherwise, I'm going to be buying it the same way I've been buying everything– a refurbished one online.
Waiting for it to be cheaper later in the year. $469 AUD is too much for a 1 game console. Might as well get BoTW on Wii U.
I've already preordered it, even though it is somewhat costly in Australia. I had to, because I don't have time to get it on another day. Also, I am really excited for Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild! The EB Games store that I regularly attend is always crowded, and it is more than likely for the product to be sold out before I get to the shop (which is usually after school), so I have no way around getting it on the release date.
@[member="Dusty"] your video has made me reconsider my investment... I'm excited for the Nintendo Switch, but I really am getting concerned about the game library, especially since I'm only interested in Super Bomberman R and MAYBE LoZ BotW.
I preordered the switch so I'll be getting it on the day it comes out. Luckily I got it over the internet so I won't have to go to a store. If possible I'm going to buy Bomberman for it the first day. Hope it has online battles.
With every video game system I have ever owned, I would never get the system simply for the sake of the system; I would consider getting it if a game I was interested in was present and available on said system. The Switch will most likely be no exception. Keeping in mind that my taste in video games in general has waned, and that only a few specific titles or franchise would have any appeal to me at all (barring potential recommendations for games I've never heard of, which might compel me to do research), based on the library and selection of titles seen right now, no games revealed for the Switch hold my interest. Therefore, I believe it's safe to say that I won't be getting it until a game that I would like or enjoy seeing would surface - though that is a rather big 'if', so I may never get it at all. I've never owned any console system, and while I'm not sure a Switch could be classified as a full-on console, I'm apprehensive to call it a straight handheld. Plus, if or when I wait long enough for such a game to happen, the Switch's price may have dropped substantially. If I really want something, I will scrounge together the money to acquire it, but I always like cutting costs whenever I can. Now, get Golden Sun 4 on the Switch, and you'll have my undivided attention.
As soon as they either a) show me a game worth wanting to play on it, preferably more than one, and/or b ) lower the price to the point where I wouldn't mind having it with nothing interesting to play on it haha so basically a)
