Hey there! My name is Zoroarrkk, well, my alias is. My real name is Liam. I am a writer, and I am new here after being refereed from someone seeing my writing on Fan Fiction. I do lots of roleplays, record Youtube videos and obviously write! I hope I get to speak to and get along with a lot of you here, and that you will greet me with the firmest of paw-shakes! (Sorry, bad furry joke, I may be one). As I am new, feel free to have a AMA session. Keep it within reason, no too personal comments. I'll reply to most if not all questions! Could be about me in a not too personal manner, my writing or anything you want!
Hey welcome to the lake~ I hope you share some of your writing with us in the Literature Library! Other than that, feel free to check out the Roleplay Institute!
Cheers, [Member=Zoroarrkk], welcome to the Lake! If you want to make an AMA, you can head right on over to the Question and Answer part fo the forum. We're glad to have you here & hope you enjoy your stay!
Welcome to the Lake, @[member="Zoroarrkk"]! As @[member="Sugar"] mentioned before me, if you'd like to make an AMA, you should post one here. As you know, they're a great way for us to get to know you outside what you've already told us. As an initial question before you post your AMA, though, what do you like to write FFs about? Pokémon, or something else in particular?
@[member="Kouhai"] Will do! As for what I write, I write a lot of things, but most of them are Pokémon based. I think I have three or four character backstories posted, just some short stuff, I have a NSFW stuff with a Zoroark named Maya and a Vaporeon named Tsilira (the former being my character), a short novel on my first and main OC Lupus who is a werewolf zoroark hybrid (Three chapters done, taking a hiatus for now), I have a writing prompt to do with Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, explorers series. And then I have two NSFW non-Pokémon stuff (One demon and one tentacle monster). Feel free to check my Fan fiction out if that interests you, it's in my profile.
Welcome to lake Valor! Its awesome you are a writter though just a reminder that NSFW content isn't allowed on LV. I hope we get to be great friends and all, you seem pretty cool
@[member="Cadbberry"] I know! Hence why I said about going to my Fan fiction site Speaking of posting writing, I just tried twice and every time I do it just takes me back to the home screen, no errors coming up and no posts being made. Any reason why? Because I have posted twice in the last hour maybe?
@[member="Cadbberry"] Nope! I add my title, (Writing prompt: The battle of time) and add my ten tags, and then do a short writers note, and then copy n paste my story in which is only like 250 words.
Hmm, sounds strange. Could you try doing it again with only 8 or 9 tags? I think someone here encountered that same error when trying to post a topic with 10 tags, but it worked with 9 for some reason. Also, welcome to Lake Valor! I hope you enjoy your stay. If you require further assistance with this, you can PM me and I'll reply as soon as I can.
Hi Liam! It's nice to meet you, welcome to LV. o/ I used to RP a lot way back myself, mostly through Yahoo messenger and things like that, but it's been ages at this point. I prefer to observe from a distance nowadays! haha some people are suuch good roleplayers. Hope you have fun here. =) The forum's super nice and you're bound to fit in well. We have many writers!
Welcome in Liam! I think you'd really enjoy our Literature Library section, so be sure to check that out soon. Have a nice stay!
Welcome to the forum, do you find youtube a difficult place to publish your work on? I've only just created a channel and rarely get to access the site so I don't know much about it yet XD
@[member="ClefairyKid"] not sure I really understand your question. I make videos of me playing games, not put my writing on there. I could make a whole novel on YouTube. Just don't do what I have done and buy a lot of expensive equipment. Three years, 176 subs. Not worth the £1000+ I have spent.
I meant publish anything on there, regardless of type Sounds like you really do have some experience with it, I never considered buying specialist equipment, I've only used the default screen recording thing that comes on my laptop, although I did start trying to do very basic editing to add sound over them. I can't believe that much investment is only achieving that many subs, I didn't think youtube would be as hard to break through on as that : O
@[member="ClefairyKid"] yeah. A lot of factors have kicked me in the ass, but it is hard. For example I played CoD for two years. The most saturated game. I also admit I don't have the best personality. I took two four month + breaks from uploading. And also in the earlier days I had lots of arguments with people, so them people shared my channel to their friends for hate. Until you find success, don't spend too much money. A capture card (for console) and a headset can cost £250 together. You can find ways to get Sony Vegas for free. Stick to that. I decided to buy myself a £600 gaming PC like an idiot.
Oh, I don't record games, I record myself working in photoshop, so I won't need any equipment, probably could do with a better program for recording the screen but I hardly think that's going to make that much difference at this point XD I've also got a series of mac machines so ^ ^ im good c: I don't really want to be successful for the sake of youtube itself, I just wanted another avenue to drum up interest in my art style across all social media and therefore increase chances of selling more commissions.
@[member="ClefairyKid"] Ah. Fraps or OBS is what I would use for screen capture. The latter is free (and is really good for streaming as well) and the latter is higher quality, but also has huge file sizes (and isn't free unless you find ways to get it). As for getting yourself known. Do art for big youtubers and post it on a reddit thread they might be in. For example my favourite Esports team OpTic Gaming. But then that's more banners, logos and overlays. Not sure what to do for direct art like Poke art.
