Hi, guys! I'm Dylan. It's been a long time since I've been on any forum (I think the last one I was a part of was in like, 2010 when I didn't even know how to interact with people), but I heard this was a good place to discuss art and fanfiction, so here I am! Writing is the thing I love most, and even though I usually write original fiction, I became a writer because I liked writing Mystery Dungeon fanfiction as a kid, so I'm finally making a serious attempt at some Pokémon stories. I'm also into some other stuff. I play a little bit of competitive Melee, and I like music a lot. There's more, but I'm kinda tired so that's all I can think of for now. I'm looking forward to hanging out with you guys. I always wished people wanted to talk more about fanfiction and stuff. It was kind of annoying posting my work in Facebook groups and basically yelling into the void about it. So yeah, thanks for having me!
Ha Ha! First post! How'd you hear about this place? There are many roads that lead here, so I'm curious to hear which one you took. Writing original fiction is pretty cool; is there any particular style you find yourself comfortable with? And be careful about yelling into the void about stuff. Sometimes it yells at you back.
Someone mentioned it to me on fanfiction.net after I posted my current story. They told me this was a really good community, and that I could also talk about writing here. I mostly write fantasy, especially urban fantasy! I've kind of been experimenting with that a little bit though, I've been jokingly calling the original story I'm working on now "folk fantasy." And even though I'm a certified Void Yeller, you're probably right, I should be more careful
Welcome to LV! I only joined a few days ago, but it's been pretty fun. I'm looking forward to reading your works!
Oh, that's pretty cool! When you say urban or folk, I'm guessing that means the kind of atmosphere it takes place in? though I'm not sure what you'd mean by 'folk' since that could have a lot of different meanings based on context (which I currently lack, apparently). Hey, you never know who's listening.
Welcome to the inhabited void, there are people here all screaming into the void. I am a Mystery Dungeon fan, always love to see people's ideas about the series! I also love original works, the creativity writers have is astonishing. You should be sure to check out the Literature Library and post your works in there! If you are a Facebook person be sure to follow the LV page, it is pretty great Totally not the person who runs it
Welcome to Lake Valor. This place is awesome so whoever recommended you here must also be awesome! Hope you enjoy your stay and have fun!
Tell me about it @ being tired... it's currently 6AM and I'm getting ready for work. Not falling asleep midway feels like a challenge sometimes. Welcome to LV, Dylan! Nice to meet you. <3 We definitely have a huge art and writing community since a lot of members come from DA and FF.net, so you're in an excellent place. I look forward to seeing your contributions!
welcome to the 'hood. though, all jokes aside, you'll really like this site, everyone's super friendly, welcome to LV!
Welcome to the lake~ As Cad said, you should totally check out the Literature Library! Hope to see you around~
Yeah pretty much, it's a fantasy story that takes place in the middle of the woods in Michigan I feel that. I'm currently working some pretty weird hours so I'm usually exhausted (Staff Edit: Please don't double-post if you can help it. If you need to quote more than 1 post and respond to them all, you can hit the Quote button for each post, and they'll all go into the Reply box. Thank you!)
Hey @[member="RoosterHelmet"], welcome in! Your avatar is really cute - Mareep is an adorable Pokémon. I hope you'll stick around.
