As someone who plays competitive Pokémon on and off on my 3DS, something I have always wanted was to be able to spectate matches that my friends are having. I have two other friends that I battle with the most and would love to be able to actually watch their battle without them having to have a capture card and then sharing their screen. Would anyone else like to see this get added to the main series games at some point? I think it could be a cool idea, and because lag isn't something you need to worry about in Pokémon (usually), I think it would work out really well.
Ya know, now that I see this, I actually don't get why more people don't request this. I love watching battles as they happen on showdown with friends of mine.
This is something that they should have integrated with the release of Diamond and Pearl, in my opinion. Spectating matches is a good way for players who are having trouble getting into competitive to learn battling. It can be frustrating starting out and not being able to compete or really learn much, so having an option to watch friends would help that, I feel.
I personally thing that not only you should be able to spectate, but even make bets like in SSB4 (That sadly never happen 'cause they don't have the game corners anymore/don't like gambling)
I really like @[member="Apawn"]'s idea of being able to bet on the winner of the match. Watching live Pokémon matches isn't something that is often possible unless you watch the big tournament live streams or are actually present at such events. Being able to watch battles through the game on Wi-Fi connection would be massively cool. The greatest thing about it--it'd be likely to inspire more creative teams and more players to come into the scene, especially if the tournament creating feature is built correctly for Sun/Moon. In fact, spectating matches may actually become a reality because of tournament creation tools, and that's an exciting thought.
