Does anyone even remember this strip mall-like area that you could get bonuses and certain events by using it? The more people you connected with, the more people that would show up and want to build stores in this domed trip of land. Each person had some kind of dream and the more often you visited and purchased from the shop the faster it would level up and have more to offer. I personally used Join Avenue.... well for most of my post game I loved this idea and used it so often as it was a way to get Pokémon to like you and to get eggs to hatch faster. I think of it like a buildable and customizable Mauville city (oras version). What was your take on this idea, do you wish it was brought back?
To be honest I barely even used Join Avenue, neat idea sure but I rarely ever went back there once i passed through even if some of the stands you could add were really useful I just never really seemed to have a great interest. If I'd developed the avenue I had in my game it could probably have made some things easier on myself since one stand could level your Pokémon and another did IV training but I just kept forgetting going back.
Hell yeah I remember it, it was pretty awesome. Gen 5 was the first time I started to play Pokémon more seriously and I remember checking up Join Avenue every day for training before doing other things while making mono teams for those medals. I sunk like 400 hours into Black 2, plenty of Join Avenue time.
I loved Join Avenue--it was always a big event if a Gym Leader visited mine. Although I still wonder--can past Gym Leaders visit it? (Roxie was the most frequent visitor of mine, but Clay dropped by on a few occasions)
I uh maxed out my join avenue in almost every way. I had won multiple master balls from raffles, had the shops that could boost the levels of your Pokémon, and kind of went crazy getting the best stuff from everything. I remember one time I was training something and bought from Join Avenue shops effectively 78 rare candies in a single day to level it up that much.
Gen 5 were the first games I got on opening day, I just booted up my game for the first time in many years, only 290 hours in the game. Where was I though, I was the city up from my Join Avenue, I named mine Arceus Ln., I was at the PC since I was transferring Pokémon, but I headed back into my Ave. and man did I miss some of these stands. I hope they make a return in the future or something similar.
Something like it really should return I agree. The secret base trainers in ORAS serve some of the same function as the Join Avenue folks but it's just not the same. Hope Gen VII gets it back one way or another. It was the result of developing area in Generation V and we know that in Sun/Moon part of the events involve the development of Alola (in particular a league)..so I think there's an opening eh?
I honestly loved it and I still use it whenever I jump on to white 2. It was one of my favorite features and although it took a long time to build up it was very much worth it. I think my level was above 80 the last time I used it? It's been a long time so I would have to check. I would love for them to bring this feature back along with the white tree hollow and the dream world.
How did I forget this? Join Avenue was great! I always had my friends say stupid or silly things in my area. Very underrated area IMO.
Join Avenue was great. I loved playing around with it and just make use of all the stores as I pleased. Never made much progress, but I do remember it very fondly.
Join Avenue is great! I actually spent hours there, developing it further and further... Plus, it was a really easy technique for me to get my team to lv 100, lol. The facilities were really useful and I loved the fact that your friends and characters from the game itself could come visit as well! Ahh, the nostalgia...
Man I miss this feature. They tried to emulate it in Gen 7 but it kinda failed and didn't feel as fun to me. I'd love to see them bring it back in a more traditional way next time!
I really liked this feature back in gen5. I mainly used it to raise happiness for Pokémon evolutions but I still had lots of fun with it.
