Helloooo!!! I am a (very) amateur baker, and decided to create a place for me to share my yummy sweets with all of you! I will probably just keep editing my post whenever I make something new, and if requested I can post the recipe that I used. I'm always looking for ideas on what to do next, feel free to pm me with any suggestions! Enjoy! Spoiler: Lemon Vanilla Tiered Cake This was a very fun cake to make due to how easy it would be to customize it any way I wanted. I decided to go for a whipped look all around the outside of the cake, which I think turned out really elegant! The taste was delicious. The lemon and vanilla blended perfectly together, but with the four tiers it was a bit much to eat a slice in one sitting.
It looks very tasty. Turned out really good! I prefer making icing myself too. I don't like store brands.
I love buttercream the most. It's generally easy to make, and I like that you don't need to store it in the fridge and can bring it to places easier compared to cream cheese frosting. Plus, royal icing is always a royal pain to make. It's too easy to screw it up so I only make it for sugar cookies. One thing I do recommend though is making a thicker white chocolate ganache to substitute for royal icing. It hardens generally the same and it makes a more complex flavor that you can customize more. Thank you! Store brands can be useful in a pinch, but if you have the time and ingredients, always go homemade!
