I got back into Pokémon, and I'm trying to get back into the meta. Any tips/tricks/things I should know? I already know some things: Rule 1: Use Tapus Rule 2: Z Moves are busted
Hazards are important since there is a lot of switching for favorable terrain. I think it's also good to have Pokémon that can handle common threats like the tapus, mimikyu, and ultra beasts that can sweep. Having a Pokémon that can have a variety of sets can also give you an advantage since it can be hard for your opponent to predict what item your Pokémon is holding and what attack they will use (Garchomp, Greninja, Celesteela etc. come to mind).
Thanks for that info! There's a lot of talk about Dugtrio being insane this gen because of Arena Trap. It hasn't been banned yet, but it's getting there it seems.
