Brace yourself, I got one heck of a storm to whip up! Spoiler Ok, i'm gonna stop here for now because i just barely reached Pokémon that start with the letter C... I want to wow people, but not all at once... That's like getting all the hot water in a shower at once, the trickling cold soon after... Not to worry, there's over 200 Pokémon in my bag of tricks, if you think I'm even close to showing all I got, think again...
They sure do look awesome, very awesome indeed. That Braviary looks the best, in my opinion c: How on earth do you make these?
Hey these are cool, interesting style that I don't see much in fan-art (not that I'm go looking for fan-art often). Will be cool to see the rest.
Thank you, I spent almost 2 years getting these all together, most were in spurts, i actually did about 50 in a month at one point... Wait till you see all 200+, and then any new ones i do. PS- If you think this is a lot so far, check this out: These Are thumbnails of all the Pokémon I've done thus far (Minus a few newer completed ones, scrapped models, and of course, gen 6) I Might continue this, but right now... It might just be easier to redo it with updates accordingly Spoiler
Very nice! I especially like the ones with different poses, like the Kyogre and Jellicent. You should try more unique poses in the future, those ones come out nicely. :>
I agree with Del. I would love to see them drawn in your own poses. It will give your work more originality I also read that these are vectors? If so I want to comment on like the outer areas of your work. They seem a bit bumpy in some of them and if you used less anchor points, they will look smoother Just something to keep in mind ^^
i agree with ashe, less anchors would smooth things over nicely and give these a nice crisp and professional look. i'm not sure about the program you're using but i know illustrator and indesign wen you hold and drag you can get some pretty nice curves. when i first starting working with vectors in school i had some troubles but it's easy to pick up. keep up the good work, though
I use neither, however, I also don't use bezier curves, either... I use something called curvature control, which is simpler to use, but sometimes results in more points. Also some of these works are old and i've had plans for a long time to replace them, fix them, or scrap them until i make a better ones. The jagged edges i have, which i call chipping lines, are errors i forgot to fix prior to finalization, a lot of my revised works do NOT have that, but my methods are changing constantly, and so are my ideas about styles do, too. And yes, you will see a lot of mistakes on these works, but i'm at that point now where i'd rather finish them all, then go back and fix them, which has been working for me for almost 5 years now. I tend to work closer on my newer works, but these chipping points still exist becuase it's like taking notes, you wanna get them down before you forget, then revise when you have them. However, I have tried to revise these many times before, it's not easy, because as you can see, the sheer number of works, plus multiple revisions and quality checks can really add up. I'm not trying to come off as a lazy rusher, but 240 works with even 2 revisions for an hour a piece... that's 480 hours, that's 20 straight days with no breaks, food, or restroom breaks, and then i STILL have to make all the new ones, that would break me mentally... It's something i will do, but not all at once. I hope you understand, -PM
no, no, i understand. i went to art school so i know what its like to be constantly bus on multiple projects. but one thing art school did teach me was quality over quantity.
even as the consideration of quality over quantity, Pokémon in itself is crafted based on quantity over quality, can you imagine masterpiece museum quality hi def handmade works for each Pokémon? we would still be waiting on gold and silver by this point. My argument still stands. However, in your defense I did start to do quality checks on new ones much better than the old ones, Chespin and Froakie are living examples of this, and i will continue to update a few of my ones that just look bad during my free time. I hope that clears up any confusion considering the quality, and even though we discussed this on the box, I want to make my points very clear to people. -PM
Those are very sleek and very sophisticated. I really love the 3D style. I guess I'm going to have to explore Vector now as I really love what you have achieved. I'm just a hobbyist when it comes to drawing but I like to explore all different technicques to find a style I like.
You may need to allow some time to load, especially on slower connections, dropbox loads in order here from first image to last, which is A-S atm, so if you're looking at swoobat, for example, make sure you're done loading the page, first... then view it. i would not recommend viewing my art collection on dialup, either.
