Event Designing the Region

*slaps thread* This bad boy can fit so many revives in it

I may have forgotten some ideas in the discord/forum, but here's a general idea of how we could go along with progression:

1. We start in 'Detroit', but really hate that area bc it's dilapidated and ruled over by the local gang (Gym Leader 1; who after crossing out all other options would be Robin, which is worrying because we don't want another Bede). We beat Robin and move on to the only place we can go to without Surf, 'Windsor'. Once we're there we find out that there's a local gym leader, but they're currently helping out in the blue region so we can't battle them until later. Perhaps the blue region's under lockdown related to the evil team of sorts (a fun contrast to the 'Canada is always peaceful' stereotype), which serves a double purpose of forcing MC to continue along the black region.
2. Gym Leader 2 could be Axel, who owns a small factory in 'Lansing'. After beating him, we have our first encounters with Cove, Mai, and the evil team. Perhaps some skirmishes in the smaller towns, which culminates by the entrance to the red region (which for some reason I have not names here).
3. I feel like a good candidate for Gym Leader 3 here is Aurora, who lives in this very rural but sweet neighbourhood and doesn't really have any problems with the evil team. Or maybe we have MC help beat a sudden ambush by the evil team, which endears them to the local populace.
4. A wild idea is for Aurora to accompany you throughout the rest of the (southern) red region; perhaps she needs to do an errand or wants to help stop the unrest that's happening in her region. No matter the case, we reach Thunder Bay for Gym Leader 4 (the electric leader Audra); after which we receive a call about the blue region for Part Two of our journey. Gym Leader 5 (the water leader Lachlan) needs help, so he called his long-separated childhood friend (Audra) to come to 'Toronto'. You of course come along.
5. From here on we have a long stretch of plot (evil team shenanigans) where the MC, Cove, Audra, Lachlan, and two mysterious people fight to liberate the blue region from the evil team. We could put lots of encounters with the big bad, some drama, legendaries in need of rescuing, etc. This could also be where most of the LV members introduce themselves, perhaps with subplots in every town. At some point you also battle with Lachlan, and/or he gives you the badge in reward for your assistance.
6. Remember the Gym in 'Windsor' that had been locked for a while? It's actually owned by Trixie and Remy, the twins that helped you in before! After freeing the blue region, Gym Leader(s) 6 will invite you to battle them in their gym; and after beating them, reveal an old tunnel (coal mine?) that leads you to the northern red region for the last few gyms.
7. You first meet Gym Leader 7 (Enya ig bc late game) in 'Grand Rapids'; perhaps she was hunting (exploding) some evil team operation in the area. You accompany her going towards 'Traverse', and surprise surprise, the evil team is trying to take control of the area again! With the help of Aurora again, you manage to free the city and fight Enya for your seventh badge.
8. Gym Leader 8 is obviously gonna be the GOAT Maverick; he's from 'Chicago' but his gym is here in 'Milwaukee' because I feel the former would be a nice place for the League. But before you could even start the fight, something happens in 'Madison' that suddenly affects the whole red region. Cove, Aurora, Enya and Audra arrive to defend 'Milwaukee', the first line of defense. Maverick asks you to help him stop the big bad from finishing their evil schemes, and the two of you go to 'Madison' for the final battle. After that entire schtick is finished, you and Maverick finally have your gym battle, and get the eight badges required for the 'Chicago' League.
9. BZ and Dawn's suggestion for the Major League could actually be a harder league in the blue region that was closed before due to the local crises. Again, we LV members could come in as the gym leaders here, starting from 'London' all the way to 'Trenton'.

 

Woah, this is very robust. I dont have any complaints with the plot here.

 

Did any of the Lakes get named officially? I'm attempting to write about the region and specifically need to know what the Lake Superior equivalent would be. The only thing I could find was maybe Lake Coross?

 

I don't think we've reached that far into the worldbuilding yet… but that brings up an interesting idea - perhaps after the Summer Scramble is over, we could incorporate the places, people, mythos, etc. from the writing event and use it for the actual Meroi canon~
