If you were a Gym leader, what type would you choose?

My first thought was dark, as a bunch of Pokémon that I like are indeed of that typing, but I think I would actually go with poison type gym. I feel like poison type Pokémon are always overlooked, and some of them are pretty cool.
My Pokémon would be:

-Croagunk (definitely my main)
-Crobat
-Nidoking
-Gengar

 

Yes thank you for clarifying that . I did mention Pokémon similar to the fairy types though.

 

I'd say Flying, as most of my favourite Pokémon are from that category. My Pokémon would be:
- Pidgeot (main)
- Skarmory
- Altaria
- Swanna
- Talonflame
- Mandibuzz

... my team looks way too similar to yours. Flying Gym (i like my birbs) and:
- Altaria
- Staraptor
- Toucannon
- Pidgeot
- Fletchinder

OR I could go with a team of smol birbs and be that level 1 gym you fight.
- Swablu
- Starly
- Fletchling

and all you have to do is not pick Grass and you'd beat me in 5 seconds for my badge.

 

Probably Dark or Fairy. I really like both types! If I was dark, my team would be:

- Bisharp
- A-Muk
- Honchkrow
- Scrafty

As for Fairy, I would have:
- Florges
- Togekiss
- Rimbombee
- Sylveon
