Two Worlds, One Crisis [Luna x Aura]

Soon Amber had finished applying the bottle stuff to Kuro's injuries.

"Are you OK to walk?"

"Yeah, I'm fine..."

"Guys, come here. You might wanna see this..." Asuna called from the lounge. The two teens made their way to the lounge, where they saw Asuna watching TV. There was a breaking news segment about a crazed lunatic running through the streets kicking police officers.

"This isn't one of those comedy spoof news shows, is it?" Amber asked.

"No, this is real. Look, they've got a helicopter camera team on her now." Asuna pointed out. They all turned to the screen, and listened to the reporter.

"...of a young woman with bright orange hair obscuring traffic, attacking police officers and running from authorities..."

"I've seen that girl before." Kuro said blankly, as if it were obvious.

"I've never seen her, and I've been going to our school longer than you. Are you sure you're not confusing her for someone else?" Amber sighed.

"No, I'm certain I've seen her before... Oh my god." Kuro whispered. If he was holding something, he would have dropped it dramatically.

"What? Who is it?" Asuna asked.

"Guys, that's Luna."

 

Kuro, Asuna and Amber were in Asuna's car, driving at almost double the speed limit to get to where the news crew and police had chased Luna.

"Are you sure that's her?" Asuna asked.

"Positive; she turned human when I kissed her before I left, and she looked like that for a while too. There's nobody else in this whole world that could just happen to look like that." Kuro confirmed.

"From what I saw on TV, she looked about 20 years old, and you're only 17. That's a bit of an age gap..." Amber pointed out. Kuro blushed profulsely, which made Amber giggle softly, but then she went a bit quiet.

"Hey, can I tell you something?" she asked.

"Sure, what is it?"

"I, uh, I'm grateful for your offer to go out with me, and I do still have feelings for you, but I think I'm going to have to decline..."

"Mhmm, I see. But why?"

"Well, now hat your mate, or I guess I should say wife, is in this world, I don't want to get in the way of things. But I still want to be friends, and go out with you and stuff. But as friends, not as dating. Like, we could go to the movies, or arcades, or I could take you shopping... Things like that..." Amber said, blush taking over her face.

"Really? Are you sure?" Kuro asked. Amber gave a small but confident nod, which made Kuro smile.

"Thank you. And of course we can still go out; I need some friends in this world." He chuckled, playfully punching Amber in the arm.

 

"What do you mean she's gone?" Kuro yelled.

"I'm sorry, sir. We understand what you've been through, and we'd gladly let you reason with the suspect, but she disappeared from this area and there are no traces of her past this point where we stand." The officer replied calmly. He had the head constable, and recognised Asuna from visiting Kuro multiple times while he was sick.

"Well, can we investigate the area, Mr. Kirigaya?" Asuna asked, being more informal with him.

"Of course, Asuna. I'll have a warrant cleared for you in a jiffy." The officer, Mr. Kirigaya, smiled.

 

"That's Officer Taro!" Mr. Kirigaya called out, running to the sound of the voice, Kuro, Asuna and Amber all following his lead. They eventually come upon the scenw of the police offer Taro and Luna struggling against each other. As if by reflex, Kuro bolted towards Luna, most of his wounds opening with the sudden force. He grabbed onto her, shaking her to grab her attention.

"Luna! Luna, it's me! Kuro! Please, stop attacking that police officer!" he cried out to her, his voice loud from a mix of his struggle to get Luna to listen and the immense pain he was in. Blood oozed from his arms with every little movement, and the injuries on his torso also leaked blood, which pooled at his feet. Any longer, and he'd be in grave danger.

 

Kuro feebly lifted one his his blood-stained hands, caressing Luna's cheek with it.

"You're so... pretty, when you're a human..." he smiled weakly, before his arm involuntarily gave up, and he saw the bloody hand print he had left on her face. His face dropped a little, and he looked like a lost puppy.

"Oh no, I... made you all dirty..."

"Lunaura!" Asuna called, running over to her with Amber in tow. She checked over the boy's condition, and shook her head.

"Not good. If we don't get him home fast, he'll bleed out and die." She said, her hand against his forehead. He was also breaking into a fever. She turned to Mr. Kirigaya.

"Mr. Kirigaya, can you you give us a police escort please? We need to get Kuro home fast." Asuna said, turning from caring sister to mission commander.

"On it. I'll get my car ready and radio the station." Mr. Kirigaya nodded, jogging off to his car.

"Amber, help Lunaura get Kuro into the car, he needs the whole back seat to himself. Lunaura will ride with me, so get her buckled up too. You can ride in the police car."

"Got it." Amber nodded, before running over to Luna and Chris. She cupped her arms around her shoulders and whispered to Luna.
"It's OK, you can trust me. Kuro and I are friends. Come on, we need to get you to the car. Don't worry, it's not scary."

Asuna kept looking around, until she remembered that she saw a grey-haired man onlooking them.

"You!" she pointed, referencing the whole area. "I know you're not from this world, so I suggest you get in the police car and come home with us before I have you arrested." She said with a dark tone, before running off to her car to help Amber with putting Kuro and Luna into the car.

 

Asuna practically jumped in the car, putting her seatbelt on in one swift motion.

"Lunaura, I know this is your first time in a car, but you need to relax. Your stress is affecting Kuro. Just, uh, imagine we're flying, but we're close to the ground and you're also sitting upright and you can't move." Asuna said, trying her best to explain what driving felt like to a person who had been a Pokémon for most of her life.

Within 15 minutes, thanks to the police escort and over-the-top speeding, they reached the house. Asuna grabbed Kuro from the car and quickly took him to the bathroom, letting him soak in the bath again like he had earlier. She made a special herb mix in the water that helped with closing wounds, and with that cream she had bought, Kuro would be better after a good night's rest. Of course, it'd take a bit longer now that his wounds were so severely open.

"OK, Kuro's in the bath now. And I'm covered in blood, so I need to change. Mr. Kirigaya, are you open to stay for some tea?" she asked.

"I'd love to, but I need to go back to the station and file this report. Don't worry, once I explain that this young lady is just the result of CIS, they'll completely bypass her charges." He explained with a smile.

"OK thank you. And thanks again for the help." Asuna said, dipping her head.

"No problem. If you ever need anything, I know you've got my personal cell. I'll always pick up for you." He said, before leaving the apartment and closing the door behind him.

"I'll make the tea, Asuna." Amber smiled, walking off into the kitchen. Luckily for her, the tea supplies were still out from earlier.

"Thank you. Lunaura, why don't you... make yourself comfortable? And don't touch anything you don't understand. Or if you'd like, you can go into the bathroom with Kuro. But he's, uh, not decent." She sighed, referencing the private area when she said "not decent", before she walked to her room to change from her bloodstained clothes.

 

Amber walked back in, holding 3 sets of cups and saucers, a teapot, and a tray of muffins, which had already been set out from the last time. She noticed Luna sitting on the floor, and joined her, placing the food and beverage on the coffee table.

"This must be all so weird to you, huh. I mean, I guess we're kinda in the same position, except I'm dealing with all this weird CIS stuff happening in the real world." Amber sighed, pouring tea into all the cups. She turned her head to the hallway where the bathroom Kuro was in was located.

"I really hope he'll bounce back from this..." she muttered.

 

Meanwhile, Kuro was lying in the bathtub, slowly regaining his strength. It was slowly occurring to him in him in his blood-drained mind that Luna, his mate from a world where only Pokémon existed, was in reality. He really wanted to talk to her, but he could barely keep his eyes open let alone stand up and walk into another room. So, being weak and unable to process any real ideas, he called out to her in his mind.

"Luna... Luna, come here..."

 

Hearing a voice, Kuro opened his eyes. He smiled weakly when he saw Luna standing there, his eyes fad a far away look to them.

"Much better... now that you're here..." he whispered, his voice crackly. He raised an arm to touch her, as if making sure he wasn't dreaming, but a cut opened on his bicep and it stung like hell, so he put his arm back into the water. He tried to look at Luna longer, but he could feel himself slipping away, his eyelids fluttering constantly. Using all the strength he could muster, he raised the same hand again, letting his wrist rest on the rim of the bathtub.

"Don't... don't go..." he muttered, his hand slowly opening.

 

Kuro smiled weakly when he felt Luna's touch, but that smile faded as he felt himself drift away, his eyes finally closing. His chest lowly rose and fell as he took deep breaths.

"He really loves you, doesn't he?"

Amber was standing at the door, leaning against it's frame. She approached the bathtub, removing the now dry towelette from his forehead, running it under cold water at the sink, then putting it back onto his forehead.

"When we first met, I thought being friends with Kuro might be hard. He never told me about you, so I thought he was available. If I had known about you, I don't think I would have fallen in love with him. Last week he invited me over, and I thought it was finally time, but then he told me about you. I just felt so jealous, I ran. I didn't speak to him until he came back, and when he did try I avoided him. Then he told me that he got these injuries by protecting you, that this world and the one he made are, to him, connected. Even after the way I treated him, he still wanted to be friends. He even said it was OK for us to be together in this world. At first I said yes, but today, I changed my mind. I see now that he loves you so much, more than anything, and I'd hate myself if I got in the way."

Amber sighed with relief, she felt like she not only explained herself to Luna, but she had made amends with Kuro.
