    The Chikorita line makes me sad. It's really really hard to do good things with it in-game other than like status move/Leech Seed before switching out because the diversity of its attacking moves is just so poor.

    Though the Pikachu in Yellow is pretty bad too, since there's no Light Ball to boost its attack stats and it can't evolve to boost them. So it's overlevel or get crushed.

    I'm gonna have to say the Chikorita line too, it just falls flat compared to the other starters. Meganium got a pretty nice design but that's about the only thing good about it really imo.
