I think all of us still own some: Pokémon Trading Cards. I know there's about 400 of them stored away in a box in my room Do you still have Pokémon Trading Cards? Where do you keep them? Have you ever collected them, or were/are you a competitive player? Are there any funny stories linked to some of your cards?
I no longer have any of mine, I remember I gave them all away years ago for a Christmas present to someone. I never played, but collected up until the Gym Heroes sets. Haven't owned any since, however my 6 year old niece now thinks they're cool to have so I recently got some for her birthday and also got her the Pikachu EX tin for Christmas. It's a pretty big nostalgia trip when I go over to visit and she wants to show me her cards, especially with the recent set which is mostly reprints of base set with updated HP and attack power levels to fit in with the current standards of the game. It's also cool that I can explain what each Pokémon is when/if she asks about them, it's great to have something we can really bond over for the first time. The only memorable story I have with the cards is being a young kid and trading a holo Jungle Clefable for the legendary base set Charizard. I walked from my house up to a nearby school-yard just to meet up with the other kid in the middle of summer to make the trade. I was so ecstatic to have that Charizard, it was the first card in my binder from then on until I gave away my collection (which is something I now kind of regret because I wish I could have given them to my niece.)
I still have all mine somewhere (don't ask where because I don't know lol), I'm not sure how many I have other than they're in the thousands. I have cards back from the first set and I still buy some of the newer ones from time to time just to check them out. Competitive was never my thing but I did play a little sadly I didn't have many to play with so it was very limited how much I could. Don't really remember any truly interesting stories other than one of my first rare cards was that famous Charizard from the first set.
I've gotten back into them recently thanks to Heathstone. Friends got me into that, I remember PTCGO exists and then I've been on-off buying packs to feed my PTCGO addiction. Really looking forward to the Sun/Moon set, my little brother is really interested in the cards so I'm hoping that together we can play/learn.
I still have a few (aka a few HUNDRED), however I'm preparing to eventually sell them off. I could never play competitively, but it was something I've always wanted to do. The last tin I've opened with my mom (she passed away 2 years ago in 2014) was a old Victini tin we found in a Walmart out of state. That Walmart seemed to always have old tins, apparently people don't buy a ton of them there? There was even some original B/W promo tins with Tepig/Snivy/Oshawott promos and mini figurines inside among them..and by then we were hitting X/Y. Along side the cute little Victini figure and promo, I managed to pull a SHINY ENTEI. Still have it, and although it's among my 'to sell' cards, I don't know if I could get myself to do that..
A go to gift for my friends who are Pokémon lovers is making a framed collage of a bunch of different cards. I also collected them back in elementary school. That's really my entire experience with them.
I still have all of my cards and played pretty often until about 6-7 months ago! I used to be pretty good too when I was a little younger. theres a place that holds tourneys and just lets you play each other in my town called collectors cache. I used to go there almost every week and play! It was so much fun! I remember there was a region wide tourney and I got 3rd place in my division! I was so excited! Then theres this old dude named Paul who always beats me
I have collected a ton of cards over the years. Most are in my closet which fills a ton of plastic containers. All of my rarer ones are in a binder. I've done some competitive, placing 2nd in a TCG tournament at my college.
I LOVE the Pokémon TCG. I've been buying, collecting, trading and battling for about over a year now, and it's super fun! I keep my cards in a Magearna tin or a small cloth pencil bag in which I can easily carry around to other places if I need to do so. But mainly, they're stowed away in my desk for safe keeping so they don't get lost and ruined. Speaking of battling, I have advice on how to build the 'perfect' deck, and what cards to put in it. (If needed, I'll list all of the cards I have...maybe even a few photos... ) BEST WISHES EVERYONE!
I've got quite a few cards in a pikachu Pokémon binder, I even have an original fat Pikachi, Charmander, and I have a Nidorino and Charazard Pokémon info card. The funny thig is that I found like two or three of them on the sidewalk while walking home years ago. And I don't play the card game but my OCD maes me place them in National Dex order, the funny thing is, I have more Unova cards then anything else, I think I have abpout 235 cards so far, I need to recount after I'm done typing this. #ShippersUnite Correction I have 285 Pokémon cards, #ShippersUnite
With the Unova cards thing...that's the same for me! But...not a surprise, I guess...since I'm a Genfiver.
I know right, I have all the starters and their evolved forms, Snivy was the last one I compleated, Serperior was the last one I obtained. #ShippersUnite
