Hi, everyone! Since I am really enjoying LV I wanna be more active on here. So it's a simple question. What's a Pokémon you USED to hate but now love? For me, It would be Rowlet. When I first saw Rowlet, I despised it. It looked so weird to me and Dartrix didn't help either but when I laid eyes on Decidueye it redeemed itself completely and it probably is my favorite starter in Alola. Now that I'm replaying Sun, Rowlet is actually really cool, Dartrix still looks weird to me but Decidueye is awesome and is my favorite Grass type starter. The Ghost typing doesn't make sense to me though and never will.
Dialga, surprisingly enough. I used to like Palkia a lot more, but now thst's kind of reversed and I like Dialga wayyyy more, hehe.
@[member="Leviathan"] haha, for me it was the opposite. I was planning to get Diamond while my friend was planning to get Pearl. We ended up getting the opposite games at first (He later got Pearl as well). During Pearl's main story I ended up liking Palkia a lot more than Dialga, lol.
id have to say the magnemite line ! i hated them til i played the first mystery dungeon games, then started to love them once i caught a shiny magnemite in white 2. i mean, its not my favorite Pokémon but its still one i really like :p
I really hated Incineroar but after raising one in the main game, I grew to love the Pokémon and like the design.
Popplio and its evolutions. When I started Sun/Moon, I chose it simply because I normally get Water starters on my first runs. However, soon enough I started regretting it because I really wanted a Decidueye on my team. But I grew to love Primarina, and it's probably one of my favorite Gen 7 Pokémon. I realized after a while that I really liked its typing, stats, and design.
Emboar. I was kind of annoyed that he was the third Fire-Fighting starter in a row and I thought both of the other starter lines from Gen 5 were way cooler, but in retrospect I think Emboar is pretty cool for how tanky he looks. And the flames on his neck are super cool!
Umbreon. Thinking back to Gen 2, I didn't like it very well. These days, I think it looks pretty cool.
Incineroar. When those leaked images came out, I was thinking, "oh no, not another Fire starter that looks Fire/Fighting." But when they final starter evos were officially revealed, Incineroar's page and bio just gave it so much personality and it looks cool as well.
I originally disliked type:null because it looked weird but when I saw silvally I wanted it for my team. Until I realized you got it after completing e4 and becoming champion
That would probably be Altaria, and the worst part is that I didnt really have any good reason for hating it. The only reason I probably hated it was because it looked nothing like an actual dragon. It slowly grew on me more and more, and evetually I used it competitively to surprisingly good effect. This was before ORAS when Mega Altaria was revealed. Once that happened, that sealed the deal for me as Altaria became, and to this day still is, my favorite Pokémon.
I think it would be Beedrill. I have hated this thing for so long until I played a Wonderlocke in which I was forced to use one. That one Beedrill made all the difference and now I am still sad I had to trade it away after beating Valerie.
Ferrothorn and Incineroar comes to mind. Once they showed animations of Incineroar, it really emphasized its personality and I liked it quite a bit. Ferrothorn I disliked because of its design, but after getting into competitive, I came to respect it and what it was capable of.
For me it was Sylveon The ribbons , the face... the pink...I just detested this pokemons existenceFinally got one granted it was shiny because i still dislike the pink, turned it into an epic counter with work up and just fell in love with it.I namely liked it because of the pixilate hyper voice i abused a lot.
I used to HATE Yungoos and Gumshoos because of the popular belief that they were new American president in the White House...but my opinions changed when I looked up the actual backstory of the two: and it all has to do with detective stuff. Pretty cool, right? You see, to begin with, there's a mongoose in a Sherlock Holmes story...which is what Yungoos is based off of. Then, gumshoes is the type of shoes detectives wear to make sure they walk quietly. And, they stake out a suspect. That's why Gumshoos is the Stakeout Pokémon. And then, there's the fact that when I watched the Verdant Cavern trial episode of the Sun & Moon anime, I realized that there's no reason to hate the two Pokémon anymore...I was just letting something dumb, and not reality ruin it for me! I ignored it, got past it...because, there's no way one can't love those cute Normal types!
I used to dislike Charmander, but then I started to like it because I honestly thought that it was one of the better fire starters and i began to think that Charizard was awesome.
I really like Araquanid now, even though I really didn't like it when I first saw it. Weirdly enough, the exact opposite happened with Golisopod.
