Did You Name A Pokemon After Something?

I named all of my furfrou after Digimon characters (So far I have Joe, Tai, Thomas, Mimi, Kari, and Matt). A lot of my Pokémon are named after different things, but the furfrou were the ones that came to my mind.

 

I named a Kangaskhan "is this a good parent" because honestly I'm not sure

 

My Seviper is named “Where’s Zangoose” because my Zangoose is named “Where’s Seviper”

 

I named my future Alolan Exeggutor "Yellow Diamond" because n e c k

though i could probably name it steven too now

And I named my Cryogonal ^∧^ because… that's literally its face

 

I'm really bad at creating cool or funny nicknames. The only nicknames I use here are for events.

 

I named my Elgyem Area 51 because haha xd area 51 memes are funny

 

This shiny Dialga will be named Dio, after the JoJo villain. I felt that it was a fitting name for a Pokémon with control over time.

 

Just named my Lunala Batmoon because Batman and… well… moon

 

This Espurr is named reclaim because I accidentally missed a shiny Espurr, then I reclaimed another shiny Espurr later.

 

I named my shiny Weedle "Waspinator" from Transformers Beast Wars, because well, Waspinator is a green wasp. It fits too well with shiny Beedrill

 

Since about Sinnoh, I've been naming my legendaries after different musicians. My teams tend to follow manga or book themes, with assorted other captures named less specifically. Here, I'm keeping the musician aspect and being less selective about the regular Pokémon I'm catching.

 

This Sentret is named “trash meme” because I really hate the “furret walking” meme

 

I've been naming my Pokémon after certain things in popular media. Such as Excalibur and Evangelion for my two Eevees, Solaris for my Helioptile, and Devilman for my Giratina Egg.

I do not know what I was thinking, however, when I named my Shroomish "Shook Room." Must've been inhaling carbon monoxide while I was catching or something.

 

It's not a Tirtouga yet, but I named my Cover Fossil Crush, after the Finding Nemo character.

 

Just named my Honedge "Master Sword" for obvious reasons.

 

Named this Murkrow “Darkwing” after Darkwing Duck

 

I named my female Galvantula in Pokémon Sword “Pandora” because one of my neighbors before I moved has a female pet tarantula with the same name.

 

I named my Pawniard “Grimoire” after a song I like called Grimoire of Crimson. Idk, I thought it was fitting for a Pawniard/Bisharp.

 

I named a shiny Duskull "Grimm" after the Hollow Knight character.
