So in this: There is is: Spoiler: O_O What do you guys think? I think it looks amazing. Can't wait to see the full resolution!
They look awesome! It does look like the pokémon that you can catch are in the locations that they are going to appear!
It looks phenomenal! I love how detailed everything is, from the connecting towns to the Pokémon, to truly make a cohesive map. I mean look how dark Lavender Town is compared to the rest of the region. Absolutely stunning. But... I just realized that the SS Anne doesn't really go anywhere... like it's a dead end. RIP.
It looks like they haven't really added anything to it, which is a bit disappointing but not really surprising. They also probably should have changed the Cycling Road to be a drawbridge, or at least at a higher elevation so that a ship like the S.S. Anne could pass under it. What's the point of a cruise ship that can't actually go anywhere?
Woah it's beautiful! Low key want a full size print of it for my wall! All the Pokémon artwork just add to how perfect this is!!
I agree that the map map looks gorgeous with all 151 kanto mons spread all across it. But such amazing art will only fool people even further into thinking it is a serious core game. I feel a bit bittersweet about it :c Those probably won't even appear in the game, but who knows.
On one side, they're basing the game on Pokémon Yellow, which didn't have the islands. But on the other side, they'd probably want to make these new games the most complete Kanto experience, which includes the Islands for sure. So I think there's a decent chance they'll be in there.
I'm pretty sure they aren't trying to reach such a big goal with these games, tho. If the islands appear I think they will do so to make room for in-game alolan forms.
It is mainly designed for Go and brand new players, so I don't expect a great postgame of any sorts. I'm more fond of the idea that they'll enhance the main story part of the game with things like new megas and fancy cinematics.
