Corrin rushed over. Her mind wasn't on defeating Pixiemon but on getting Chase and Terriermon somewhere safe. Fueled by this thought, her own Digivice began to glow.
With that, both became their ultimate levels as Pixiemon smiled and lowered her spear, saying, "And there you go. You've now mastered Digivolution," Neil blinking and uttering, "Oh, that was... uh... heh... right, that really should have been obvious."
Chase the Reapmon looked terrifyingly unamused, but didn't make to attack Pixiemon because of Corrin's hand on his shoulder. In a bright flash of light the ultimate dedigivolved back into Impmon.
Pixiemon rose an eyebrow and said, "Well, now you can become ultimate at any time, though I would recommend doing something about your partner's increase in temper when he Digivolves," eyeing Corrin.
Chase grinned sheepishly at Pixiemon's words. "It's less of a temper honestly. I just feel more ruthless than usual." Here the Impmon turned to Terriermon. "Does your personality change when you digivolve?"
Grinning at Chase's indignant heys, Corrin turned to Pixiemon. "Thanks for helping us out Pixiemon." She told the other warmly, smiling.
Pixiemon bowed her head and said, "I believe you are looking to fight the virus, yes?" Neil asking, "How did you-?" "I've always known your reason for coming here," Pixiemon replied, "Lekismon didn't choose me to teach you for no reason. I think you can defeat the virus, though there will be many challenges along the way."
Corrin cocked her head to the side. "Do you have any advice then Pixiemon?" She couldn't help but ask.
"I can say this," she replied, "Don't get cocky. Just because your Digimon can reach ultimate at any time doesn't mean things will be easy from now on. The virus has many that are just as powerful at his disposal."
Chase and Corrin nodded seriously. "Of course! I have to ask though, how do you know all these things? And how come the Digivice can do these kind of stuff?"
Pixiemon replied, "I'm what you'd call a wise sage. I know just about everything, except for who made the Digivices. That I still haven't figured out."
"How long have these digivices been around anyway?" Chase asked the sage, curious. "We saw weird carvings of what looked like it on our way here Pixiemon, and they looked really old."
"They've existed for many years," Pixiemon replied, "I think the first one ever invented was back in the nineties. There was another threat that had emerged and seven kids were sent here to our world."
"Seven?!!" Corrin and Chase both yelled out loud, looks of surprise and envy on their faces. It must have been easier, being on a team with so many people! "Did they manage to go home? To the Human World?"
"Yes, they did," Pixiemon replied, "It was tough, but they managed." "Wait, did you say this happened in the nineties?" Neil asked, "As in, I didn't create a portal to this world?" the fluff ball sighing, "Unfortunately, no, you had nothing to do with this."
"It's alright Neil." Corrin told her friend, patting him on his back. "You might not have created the portal, but you still brought us here, right?"
Neil nodded and replied, "That is true," Pixiemon nodding and saying, "Well, you all may rest up here for the night. You have a long day tomorrow."
Cotton and Chase ended up marching to the beds they have been given like zombies, feeling really drowsy. As soon as they had slipped under the covers they fell fast asleep.
The night passed by as soon enough, morning came. Neil awoke with a yawn and said, "Alright, time to get ready."
