@ChocoChicken The library was fairly quiet at the early hour, save for a few dedicated scholars reading or doing research. The mythology and folklore section was unoccupied--maybe the world's lore had a clue?
Evergreen had spotted Brock somewhere and pulled up a seat to join him. Well? How are things with the song? she asked. Anything else you might need?
@122 Generation "Well, after getting inspired a few nights ago, I had to split my first idea into three versions." Brock explained as he continued writing musical notation. "Of the three, the first version is the only one in a playable state. But it too is a little rough, though I could have it ready with some practice."
Folklore definitely sounded like it could hold at least something. Peri checked them for anything that seemed to have something that matched the description of what the Black Rose would summon.
@ChocoChicken (would a book of folktales make sense, or a more academic type of folklore item work? This will affect what Peri finds.)
@ChocoChicken In the research archives, one particular paper got his attention. "The Primal Dragon: Could the Darkest Day Happen Elsewhere?" The paper in question discussed the primal dragon Eternatus, how it very nearly destroyed the realm of Galaria--and if the same thing could happen if someone else summoned Eternatus.
Evergreen made a face. Alright, then maybe you could work on the other two for the time being. Do you need any help with the other two? Maria saw some tournament organisers arriving at the arena. Well, credit to them, they had a lot to prepare for today. She thought about training on her own but then decided to walk around the city instead.
@122 Generation "Not so far...the second version should be ready to practice soon." Brock replied. "I'm making sure all three are in a playable state and ready to be practiced. If it still isn't working after practicing for a while, it's back to the drawing board."
I see. Let's hope it won't come to that, Evergreen replied. She sat back and had a cup of water while waiting for Mel to appear. Had Peri gone out already too, like Maria did? Evergreen guessed that was probably the case. (How about a mini boss fight where they find other parts to complete the song?)
(It has been a while since our last (and first) combat.) Eternatus... Well, at least they had a guess for the name of what they were fighting. The Primal Dragon... didn't exactly ring a bell. Perhaps if he found any Galarians out there...? Peri returned the book to its shelf, checking for anything else on such a beast - or the country it had threatened.
@122 Generation @ChocoChicken (I see no harm in some Zelda-esque dungeon crawls to further the quest...)
(We'd probably either have to finish the competition arc - or at least conclude Mel and Maria's competitions one way or another before the party is free to move in.)
@Tala Is Eternal @122 Generation @ChocoChicken (Another thing we could try is juggle the exploration with the tournament...)
(At times I cant keep up. Maybe its an idea to wait a lil longer till someone replies.) Mel and pachi had there hair dripping wet when they went down stairs. They stood at least for a hour under the shower. Mostly playing around and wetting the whole bathroom.
(Maybe a couple dungeon crawls could help. But yes, we’ll have to get through the tournament first) Evergreen looked up to see the pair dripping wet. She sighed. The lengths they would go to, they really needed supervision. Maria spent her time training with her sword.
Now with some information in hand - and not managing to find much else at the moment, Peri made a mental note to check the library again later. In the meantime, he'd have to talk to Brock as soon as possible. The inn seemed like the best place to check, but if he couldn't find the musician there...
@ChocoChicken @122 Generation @Tala Is Eternal The more Brock composed, the more he wondered. Did he really need three versions of the song? There was also round 2 of the prayerflute competition to worry about...
It seemed like the day was getting busier and more people and Pokémon were showing up at the arena. So Maria retreated to the inn once more. “Good morning, Evergreen!” she greeted the Gardevoir.
