    Hello people, I'm still here.

So this is something important right?
Having a hobby that you devote your time to is quite important in life, otherwise it just feels a bit empty.

I don't have a hobby. And personally I don't mind it. But I'd like to have one.
Believe me, I've tried a lot of things; reading, singing, dancing, music, cooking, baking.
But none of these manage to keep me interested for longer than a few weeks max.

Any suggestions on how I can search for something that I would genuinely love doing? Not talking about it being my career cause I've made my mind clear about that one.
A hobby and a career can be two different things I believe.

Also, I'd like to hear about what hobbies you all have.

Well going out of your way to look for more like this is a great place to start, so you're on the right track!

I've been really enjoying programming as of late. I've been working on making mods for Pokémon Showdown, and just a few days ago I picked up a free game engine and started messing around in that.

Writing! There's nothing more satisfying than a good story. If stories aren't your thing, you can try poetry.

That is such an odd assortment of hobbies and I love it.

My only real hobby is game collecting, and I've only just started really getting into that.

I think it also really depends on what kind of person you are. Like if you're not a super creative and imaginative person then writing probably won't be for you. And if you're not obsessed with old crap and the crap they're boxed in then you won't like game collecting.

So my advice is to just kind of consider the type of person you are and go from there. Now that doesn't mean that you should only look into stuff that fits your personality, but it's not a bad place to start.

Now all we need is for someone to do singing, weightlifting, and gaming all at the same time.

A person's hobbies are so particular, it can be hard to suggest something for another person. I will echo the voices of those who came before and say that you are on the right track with experimenting. Sometimes hobbies can be as simple as enjoying television, watching the sky, or crocheting. Maybe your hobby could be trying out all sorts of different things!

For me personally, I have a ton of hobbies. Collecting and playing video games is chief among them. I also thoroughly enjoy watching, talking about, and obsessing over professional sports. Playing sports is pretty fun too. I don't talk about my sports passion a lot here, but trust me, I do it a lot more than y'all would think. I also enjoy skiing, but I'm also a poor college student. I do like writing recreationally, but I rarely get the chance to do it since I'm frequently writing for school. Playing piano and writing remixes and original composition is also a big interest of mine. I hope to pick saxophone back up soon since I used to play it in high school at a pretty high level (at least for a high schooler).

Perhaps my favorite thing to do in general is to just rank things. Tier lists, sports players rankings, sports team rankings, ranking student essays, video games etc. are all different rankings that I enjoy doing.

That's also something I genuinely tried doing/still do occasionally. It's interesting ngl. I might even say I'm tiny bit good at poetry.

Aside from what others have mentioned I recommend reading! There are books for just about anyone and they can be quite engrossing. It can also be an affordable hobby if you buy from used book shops. The only hard part is finding the type of books that appeal to you. With how many books are out there it can be daunting to find just one.

As a person who is very experienced with juggling several hobbies, I can give you a small overview:
Imo there are 6 main categories:

The sportsy-stuff: This can range from running to team sports like basketball, football etc. or even stuff like weightlifting (where most people only do it for the looks tho). For my part I love swimming alot. It is not very tiring, but it keeps every muscle fit.

Next is the creative stuff: Including drawing or any other art form (making sculptures or even designing clothes for example), writing (stories, poems, song, etc.) or culnary stuff like baking and cooking. Just reading is also a bit creative and it boosts your fantasy. I love cooking and trying out old-timey recipes (even tho most taste like ass). I also make a little bit of pixelart here and there.

Third is music: Playing an instrument, singing and/or dancing. Prolly my fav group. Since I play drums I have a good feeling for rythm which leads to me enjoying dancing quite a bit. Singing is also pretty fun as long as it isn't too serious/competetive.

Pets: Yes, I do count pets as hobbies. Animals can be very fulfilling and add alot of action to your life. There is a pet for every lifestyle. Dogs for the active people, cats for the people who want to cuddle, but don't want to go for walks three times a day or fish and reptiles for the people who don't have much time and just want to observe. I had a dog who made my life much nicer and my turtle is a fun fella.

Now the "collecting/consume" group: This mainly includes collecting and stuff. There are no boundaries in this category imo. If it exists you can collect. Cars, rocks, games, stamps, coins, fossils, ...
The list goes on and on.

The final group is gaming and movies/shows : Not much to explain. 20 years ago being received as a waste of time and only performed by lonely losers, gaming became a large part of our current society. Like collecting the selection is huge. A ton of genres like action, puzzles, horror, etc.
The same goes for movies and shows.

I hope this overview can you inspire you somehow.

It feels odd to suggest hobbies in a way but here goes:
    - Taking up a class in something you may have never thought of doing can be fun. Like pottery, painting or creative writing. Plus having the structure of a class (online or otherwise) can help you develop some good habits for the hobby so you stick with it longer.
    - Similarly to above, having a friend group to devote a hobby too can be really nice and help you maintain the hobby over longer periods of time. There is a reason Book Clubs exist :D

As for my personal hobbies, currently they are: Movies/TV, video games, collecting and playing Magic the Gathering and taking care of my pet Crested Gecko, Ziri. For the last it was mostly a hobby when I was doing a lot of the research before hand and setting up the enclosure but coming up with new enrichment for her little lizard brain still keeps be busy along with the daily upkeep of her enclosure.

I crochet. It can be very mundane sometimes, but that's why I do it while watching tv or something, because then I'm kinda killing two birds with one stone. Crochet is nice because the basics are really simple to learn, and you can jump right into making cool things even with just the basic knowledge, and you can make all sorts of stuff (my favorite are stuffed animals).

I might sound very very annoying rn, but believe me when I tell you that I've tried everything mentioned here.
Reading, writing, knitting, gaming (when I was little and knew straight away this wasn't something I enjoyed), sports like badminton, even journaling. I've tried watching a few videos on different stuff as well. I've tried music and drawing too. Watching movies, done.
None of this really really keep me hooked.
