(and Juvenal is first year~) "Oh wow, so many people!" Juvenal said cheerfully, excited at the prospect of meeting new friends and possibly finding people who share the same hobbies as him.
Fianna looked around the hall observantly, waiting for the assembly to start. She tried to avoid eye contact with the other people around her, fearing it may trigger a conversation. It was her last year in the academy, yet she still hasn’t learnt the basics of socialising. The redhead wasn’t the one to blame, though. Her parents kept her isolated for a very long time, forcing her to study rather than to play. That was the perfect formula of an anti-social teen.
(is it the sort of thing that you attend start to finish, or can you transfer or enter from other places?) The speech was almost interesting, but it was distinctly repetitive, Daniel was sure he'd heard it before. As his mind began to wander, he found himself pulling out his schedule, he was trying not to stress about finding his first class. Hopefully it wouldn't be too tricky.
(You can transfer in for 2nd year onward. ^w^) The principle joined the building a few minutes later. He passed by Amelia's seat, giving her a small pat on the head. Amelia shrugged a bit. Why does he insist on this dumb charade? Watching the man step up the the podium, he began his usual speech. "Welcome everyone to Sinnoh's most elite trainer academy! Most of you have heard those words before but you know how much I like saying them. This year is a big year! It's relating to the yearly Grand Tournament! More news as we get closer. I actually don't want to talk too much today as we are planing a House intermingle for today. Fun activities and such for people to meet the new students of each house and interact with another!" Amelia couldn't help but roll her eyes. Principle hasn't changed. He did seem more excited than usual. Wonder why. "Now go! Have some fun and talk to people! Make friends and enjoy your next school year!"
Fianna stayed in her seat, hoping that no one would talk to her. She didn't want anyone to come near her. She didn't want anyone to hurt her. She didn't want to hurt anyone. All she wanted was a peaceful life. No more people, no more worries, no more emotions. The redhead took out a book, pretending to be occupied. Why does everyone want me to make friends? Can't they see I'm fine alone? She thought.
"Alright!" Juvenal cheered loudly, gaining a few looks from others, which he completely disregarded. "Hey Carolyn-san, do you know anybody here?" he inquired his seatmate, tilting his head slightly. (since it feels awkward to just say the name, I added Japanese honorific; hope that won't be much of a bother~)
Daniel looked eagerly around. Now was his chance to make some new friends. He saw a girl reading a book off to the side. Interrupting a reader was dangerous, but it was time to make friends, the principal had said so after all. He would just have to do it carefully. "What are you reading?" he asked her, taking the seat next to her.
Fianna noticed a boy approach her. As much as she hated socialisation, she didn’t want to look rude. “It’s... a book about Pokémon breeding.” She said, avoiding eye contact. What am I doing? She thought. Maybe if I continue reading, he’ll leave.
“If I did, I probably would’ve forgotten,” laughed the brunette. “I may have come last year, but that doesn’t mean I remember it! I’m assuming you don’t know anyone around either?”
"That's cool," Daniel said, taking a seat near her. He stared up at the front of the room, "I learned a little about that back home, we saw lots of trainers come through looking to use the Day Care. I even worked there for a summer a few years back," Daniel looked at the girl, "I'm Daniel by the way," he held out a hand to shake.
"Nahh, I'm new here," Juvenal shrugged, theb grinned. "Then let's find some friends together, Carolyn-san!"
“Allons-y!” (let’s go) The brunette gave him a smile and a high-five before scanning the room. Who looks approachable...?
Fianna looked at the boy. As much as she wanted to be left alone, she still had to submit to basic manners. “Fianna.” She replied as the redhead shook his hand.
"Good to meet you Fianna," Daniel said, giving her hand a firm shake, "I'll let you get back to reading for now, but I hope to see you around," Daniel stood up and walked off to try and find someone new to talk with. Fianna seemed a little nervous, but anyone getting into Pokémon breeding was probably good natured. At least he assumed so.
Amelia was about to steal herself from the building when the principle silently took her aside. "How about I introduce you to some of the lovely students!" Amelia held in her sigh as she was dragged in front of some boy(Daniel) before leaving. Looking awkwardly at him, she gave a slight bow before saying "Errr, hello..."
Daniel was scanning the crowd when he suddenly saw the principle before him. He was practically dragging a girl behind him, she nervously greeted him. having the principle there made it seem a little more forced, but Daniel did his best. "Hey there! My names Daniel," He tried to sound friendly as he introduced himself.
Amelia gave a small wave in response, awkwardly looking around. The principle seemed to be involved in a conversation with one of the younger kids. Good, maybe I can sneak out if I just talk a bit to this kid. "S-so, how l-long have you been here?" Amelia asked, paying more attention to the stares she was receiving by some of the students.
"Oh how about those guys with the old geezer?" Juvenal wondered aloud, pointing in the direction of the girl he met earlier and another boy, who seem to be having a conversation with an elderly man.
“Whoa, watch your language. That guy’s the principal!” Carolyn instantly froze when she heard Juvenal’s remark. “Wouldn’t want to get on his bad side... but other than that, those two you’re pointing out look friendly enough from a distance.”
"Oh he's the principal? Never knew," Juvenal shrugged, then grinned mischievuously. "Race 'ya to those three!" he exclaimed, taking off.
